Topic: Obama backtracks | |

on security pledges
President’s recent decisions have put him more in line with George W. Bush NYT analysis: Decisions on detainee photos, tribunals put him more in line with Bush, despite campaign vows. Full story http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30776209// ............ Mr. Obama’s opening gambits as president were bold declarations of new directions,......... In authorizing continued covert action in Pakistan and agreeing to a slower pace of withdrawal from Iraq than he talked about during the campaign........... “For many on the left who supported him, this is just this side of a betrayal.......... In a testy exchange with reporters, Mr. Obama’s press secretary, Robert Gibbs, argued ......... asked why the president insisted on being “so opposite of George Bush in all these questions,in all these questions, and on Friday I’m answering questionswhy are we so much like George Bush on all these questions.”....... bottom line is that Mr. Obama’s course corrections have real-life consequences. .......... “These issues are always more difficult in practice than they are in the environment of a campaign,” ......... doing so has proven to be more difficult than anyone anticipated.”...... Writing the rules for the next four years, or eight, requires lawyers, compromises and, inevitably, disappointments......... _____________________________________________________________________ imagine that one excuse after another but don't worry the future will have its disappointments honesty at its best |

Hmmm he has not disappointed me yet.. he is living up to what I thought he would.. reason I didn't help put him where he should not be now....

"course corrections" ??? Flip Flops more like it - not only often but also back and forth.
Obama kept Bush's Secretary of Defense Gates. That has always spoke volumes to me...... |
|
|
|
Flipping on the financial stiuation, also.
Regardless of party, hd hopes for him, questions are rising. |

where is all the obama supporters
hhhhhmmmmmmmmm if memory serves correctly g w bush had very high approval ratings for a couple years wonder how long obama will keep his ????????????? i said he could be a great prez but i also said he good be a bad one or just another one looks like he is heading for the just another one will he slide into being a bad one he has/had enough of congress to do almost anything he wanted and he does more of the same what a shame |
|
|
|
seems like the more intelligence he gets, and the more he learns of the geo-political situations the more he falls in line with the old Bush policies hmmmmm...

I didn't vote for him or McCain. The whole system needs revamping in my opinion. And do I have a right to b1tch? I pay taxes, so yes.

How can one be disappointed when one expected this crapola in the first place? He's no better than any other president in being able to carry out his endeavors. It was naive of him to think he could make effects any more than those before him.

I still support Obama, I think he is showing great wisdom in his decisions. I like it that he has the ablilty to change some of his ideas after he has seen the whole picture and NOT just stick with his original plan, it shows he has great adaptibility to the situation at hand

I pay taxes, so yes. if you want to revamp the system you should have voted but not for either major political party until the parties see a negative affect int he polls they have no reason to change when a third or forth party starts to make a major impact then maybe things will change |

Let us see
Is there more money in my paycheck? No Is there more benefits then before? No Is the national debt still rising? Yes Are our education and health care system doing better? No Has anything changed dramatically in this country? No Do you feel taxes will increase? Yes Will those taxes be distributed in the right programs? No So then why are you voting for the two party system only? Start researching other parties and what they have to say. Maybe they have something that sounds more promising. Afterall they are more likely interested in the peoples opinion. They are fighting for every vote they can get! |

How can one be disappointed when one expected this crapola in the first place? He's no better than any other president in being able to carry out his endeavors. It was naive of him to think he could make effects any more than those before him. Campaign promises are always for the purpose of getting elected. I am sure that he had advisers that knew perfectly well that doing what he "promised" would endanger Americans. He also had advisers to tell him what to promise in order to get elected. It would have been "naive" of him to think he could say what he actually thought and get elected. He had almost no experience. |

everyone expects candiates to hedge a little but its not like the lies of WMD's that the previous administration made up to justify war!!

I won't argue about admin's. past or present.
Just proves, to me, that when you know the REAL truth's, there is not many choices for decisions. Tough decisions, take guts to make. I personally am glad to see "some" of the changes, "our president" is making. |

sorry...but the flip flopping is getting ridiculous IMO. BHO is no better than anyone before him...and he has been in office for how long???
