Topic: Survived a tornado tonight...

We had a tornado go through our town this evening and caused some heavy damage, but no casualties. Kind of crazy pulling my car into the garage to hear the warning sirens go off and rushing to the house to get down to the basement. No damage on the South part of town, but the North end was destroyed. The local car dealership, homes and varied business. The most amazing thing about all of this was those who came out to help. I am so impressed that our community pulled together and made sure everyone was safe. There is the greater good in mankind, in spite of economic turndown and pisspoor leadership. Gotta love America when we have to get back to basics!

I've been through several tornados they are scary but thrilling all at the same time glad you're okay

We're under watches until midnight tonight, and the weather is definitely ripe for severe weather. Glad you're ok!

I am glad everyone was ok, and no casualties, but i wish i could go through the experience of a tornado, im big into storms, and a tornado to me would be the ultimate thrill.. damage, thats what insurance is for!

Glad to hear things are ok over there. Its pretty sweet when people get back together to help out each other.

I'm glad you're okay and hopefully no one was hurt. There are some tornado warnings here in Chicago, too.

That is kinda twisted. Sure there is insurance on material things that can be replaced. But what about love ones whos lives could be lost? Sure there is live insurance, but really can you put a dollar amount on somebody that you love?
