What issue about Net dating most frustrates you & why? I'm just curious if other people are as tired of it as i am when you really don't get much to show for it

Well it frusterates me when people think they luv me before they even have a chance to really know who I am! Just because of what I look like........... That's NOT luv it's LUST!

Well at this point i would settle for some lust? LOL
I get frustrated with lag time? Like when you send an email and it takes forever for them to get back to ya.. Thats why i like the face to face time better. But ill take what i can get? What frustrates you the most?

The primary drawback to this site is the distance factor.Always was & I suppose that fact ain't about to change anytime in the foreseeable future.I remain here now for 3 reasons.1)My friends whom I've known for close to 3 yrs ;).2)To share my poetry w/ friends & minglers.3)For laughs & giggles through forum participation.

Yep, it's the distance!

A few of mine:

1. The rampant illiteracy. Here we are, in what essentially boils down to a written medium, and significant numbers of people can't express themselves in even a rudimentary, marginally comprehensible way....and don't care to try.

2. The third-grade humor. Ostensible adults who spend all day laughing at "pee pee" and "poo poo" jokes, apparently believing that this somehow will make them more attractive to a potential mate.

3. Deception. Everyone I have ever met in real life from a dating site, with one exception, has turned out to be radically different from the person they claimed to be. Trends like that tend to linger in one's mind.

4. Homogeneity. 99% of the people I've seen on dating sites all have exactly the same things in their profiles. Look for someone interesting or unique or who in any way stands out, and you may be looking for a very long time. And if you happen to stumble across one....

5. Distance. .....they will be 897,000 miles away.

Better question is what doesn't frustrate me. But to answer the question you did ask let's see if I can do a quick top 5 or 10 depending how large of a rant I decide to get on....


1) People that say they are gung ho and interested in a person yet refuse to meet.

2) People that you do meet that act enthusiastic to your face and then never call.

3)People that say in private that they are interested in you but in public flirt with anyone else but you. (this is a forum issue) and a biggie with me because I cannot believe these persons actually expect me to believe I am the one they are interested in when they flirt with all and sundry.

4)People that don't have the integrity and honesty to just say hey you aren't what I expected and I am not interested. Slightly cruel to some people but much less cruel than leaving someone in doubt and waiting for a call.

5) People playing head and heart games and just trying to get laid and leading people down the garden path. If all you want is sex just say so, there are lots of people that are only looking for sex. I am not one of them but will be glad to point you in their direction, don't waste my time or yours.

Well by all means hook me up darlin!

My BIGGEST pet peeve is that if you take it seriously as a way to meet someone & try to put some effort into it you still don't get many results (dates) & it starts to feel like second job just managing your profiles & emails. Face~to~face first dates are like "job interviews"!!!!!

If you take it seriously as a way to meet someone, you can end up with an arsonist or a phony bank teller or a newspaper columnist who wants you to write her column for her with no pay and no credit for your work!

All true stories, by the way, and all people I met on dating sites (but not this site!) --

Now, if I meet someone through a friend, well -- my friends are never knowingly going to hook me up with an arsonist, etc. --

I just need some new friends with some decent connections!
