Texas gave too many rednecks too much room with-in the law to practice their stupidity. actually...this is against the law....hence them in jail now I read! But, had the victims of this act of stupidity, been two-steps farther one way or the other it would have been a perfectly legal shooting??? That's a question. |

fanta...i know i posted th laws at one time lol. but if I remember...there are certain circumstances when use of deadly force is acceptable. but i've slept since then lol
but in this case...they were idiots. pesonaly i would have called the cops myself. i would only fire a gun if i thought my life or my families lives were in danger |

I belive that they made the decision to shoot onto a common area was it? If that was the case, even if no one was injured they would or at least in states that I have lived in, been charged. Agian, I feel exhausted, this had nothing to do with guns and society. Uh oh..is Dan a liberal? |

Sec. 9.42. DEADLY FORCE TO PROTECT PROPERTY. A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property:
(1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41; and (2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary: (A) to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime; or (B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property; and (3) he reasonably believes that: (A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means; or (B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury. http://tlo2.tlc.state.tx.us/statutes/docs/PE/content/htm/pe.002.00.000009.00.htm ok...you guys can sift through this lol |

At least here you have to shoot them in your house.
Looking at Texas' laws, you could shoot them, and then run over there and put sod in their hands. Tell the cops they were trying to steal your lawn. Good to go! |

AND we aren't all like JR Ewing either (although ironically he got shot)
