Some thoughts spurred on by another thread. (thanks atlantis)
I'd love to hear both sides of this.

What's your idea of the core of a man/woman committed relationship? I'm not talking just financial here.

Are you into the newer type roles where everything is split 50/50 (or even where the man stays home and the woman works) or do you like the traditional roles of a household.

If you could have your ideal set-up....how would that look?

I have not read ONE WORD of this thread other than the OP....but I can almost guarantee that for each person that answers, there is going to be a different definition.

This should be interesting.

Ok. So I have now read all the posts, but I have yet to see a " definition " of what a real man/woman is.

I understand the OP also asked about the ideal relationship, but it seems like everyone is skirting the " what is a real man/woman to you " part of the question.

Why would that be?? Perhaps because the definition would be extremely fleeting? Perhaps because most people never really sit down and put their thoughts together on what, exactly, it means to them??

Those two words " real man/woman " are thrown around here nearly as much as " no games ". Whatever the hell that means. Should I not mention the fact that I own a video game system if her profile says " no games "???

I don't really think, even for each individual, there is ONE definition of what a " real " man/woman actually is.

It's absolutely ok. The problem comes in when people are all about saying they want " real ", but don't truly have any idea what " real " actually means to them.

take a walk on the wild side and go into the woman bashing thread that started this one...

And if I said what I thought I'd be hated b/c everyone has an opinion and when it's not agreed with we're bad people...

I just finished reading what you posted over there. I have read every post there to this point.

I was VERY tempted to post " Yeah!!! What she said!!! "

But I figured that the gravity of the conversation would have made that response somewhat inappropriate.

As to my point, I don't believe that you are one of the people I would be referring to. You seem to have a very definite idea of what a " real " man should be.

A Real Man or Woman?

Too bad we can't share thoughts and emotions telepathically.

Some would be enlightened, other's would fall dead clentching their heads.

Since we can't do that, I guess that we have to share our thoughts this way and hope they are all not taken too literally.

Well..to be totally honest, I do admit to having that light flicker a bit from time to time.

But, I think that happens to all of us once in a while.
