I want a Viking funeral, where they send me off in a wooden boat and shoot flaming arrows from shore til they light me up.

feed me to the dogs I once had "The Book of Questions" which was supposed to have thought/discussion provoking topics. One actually WAS that you'd died and your body was left in the woods for the wolves "would it bother you?" That question got more serious OMG responses than any other...it clearly bothered most people. Not me, personally, but it was interesting to see how strongly people responded. |

Saw something on the news today about "Green Funerals"...they plant you without being embalmed, in a biodegradable casket, without a concrete liner...supposed to be about 75% cheaper than a normal funeral... Have you thought about how you wanna be "disposed" of? Yes I have. First off, give whatever organs I have to another who, with them, can live. There will be no viewing as I don't want a bunch of Catholic Italians staring at my dead body. Nor do I want my family to spend a fortune on an ostentatious box which will only get burned or rotted. I will be cremated and buried in the famiy plot beside where my mom and dad will be one day. Plant a tree in my honour. (I wonder if this counts as a last will and testament and I don't have to bother with a legal fee?) |

Actually just had this discussion last night with my 19 year old daughter. I just buried her father this past July and he didn't have anything planned. We had to do it all. After that was all done I sat down and wrote out everything that I wanted done, the people to contact, the clothes to put on me, the songs to play at the funneral. She will be sole caregiver to her younger sister if anything were to happen to me before she turned 18. I have it all written and in a folder in a safe box. She knows were everything is. I wish my mom would do this for me. I know being 1 of 6 children I will be the one left to do it all. It has been that way all of my life.

Isn't that funny how freaky people get when it comes to their remains? I personally would rather be recycled into the eco-system in some form or another... I'm gonna have to go with Lulu's plan... She & I share the same rare genetic disorder...I'd much rather have science be able to learn & do something constructive with me after I've passed on... I'm already an organ donor...so it's all good! |

no need to think about it, they wont find the body!

As I'm lying on the floor and dying, I want to look at you and say..."Hey Que, I'm sorry I messed up your rug, just roll my body out of the way. I call that true love.......Dr. John and the Medicine Band.

I want to be cremated and if my friends want some of my ashes they are welcomed to it.. The rest should be scattered up in the mountains of Banff...
As for my friends getting some of my ashes.. Some people might think this is morbid but one of my best friends Shawn Hutchinson died of cancer at the age of 33. He was a musician that lived in Santa Fe with my sister. His side job was watching houses for rich people and taking care of wolves for an Indian lady. I made a necklace with his ashes and put shavings from his drum sticks, fur from the wolf and a piece of a fossil we found out at a lake one day.. It's on a leather strap with antlers from the first buck I shot.. It's actually really F***ing cool looking.. This isn't something that I have ever done before and if he was alive he would be like what the hell Ed? ha! ...but I was feeling all sentimental and thought it was a good way to respect some of my friends ashes.. |

That's almost like a Medicine Bag, Ed...very cool! I've made talismans like that before...who gives a rat's azz what other people think about it...it's YOUR memorial! |

I personally, don't give a rat's azz about what happens to my remains...I am thrifty in life & wanna be just as cheap in death... Does anyone know if you can still sell your body to science? Im pretty sure you can donate it... not sure about selling. And sometimes you still end up paying to donate your body As for me.... Take what you need and burn the rest. Don't care where it ends up because... well... I'm dead. |

My sister lights a candle and plays a zeppelin song for Shawn every year on his birthday too... I really don't dwell on it, but I do respect all the times we have had.. |

I think people should combine a wonderful camping trip and my funeral at the same time. Burn the body in the campfire and then roast weinnies overtop of me. Once Im smoked......throw me into the caribbean at a later date.
