After loosing my husband in March 07 and then my Mom in Oct.a friend suggested I come here.. I wasn't ready to date but I met a lot of really wonderful people who became my friends and helped me get thru that first winter and holiday season.. You know who you are...Thanks

i love mingle but i'm not here to meet someone, just here for the forums

Initially I joined for dating purposes....soon I realized that was a waste of time So now I'm just here for the forums & the great friends that I have made .

The forums are fun and you make friends. Who knows? Maybe the right mix will happen and I'll meet the "one". Age and distance plays a part. In the meantime a little thought provoking discussion is not a bad thing.

i don't know if this site works or not

I spent three years in a rather unfriendly little town, where I was reliably informed that the only ways to meet people were to go to a bar or a church. As a non-drinking atheist, these were not good options for me.

The friends through whom I used to meet people have all gotten married and have 2.4 kids now -- their formerly eligible friends have also gotten married and have 2.4 kids. The once-well-stocked "social pool" has dried up.

I recently moved again, and I don't know anyone here. Really, the sites are the only way I'm going to meet anyone, unless I can somehow rustle up some new, well-connected friends here.

But the sites haven't proven to be an answer, either -- because it seems that women don't "resort" to dating sites until they've been through at least a few truly disastrous "real-life" entanglements in their younger years -- the demographics suggest that the vast majority have kids and do drink, which is definitely not what I'm looking for.

Not to say someone compatible couldn't sign up here -- just that I don't think it's very likely.

This is more then a dating site. This is also a site just to make some friends.

The owners and moderators are the friendliest in the world. They are also reply to emails, unlike most dating sites. They also are helpful, patient, and keep it interesting here.

Many of the people who join are very educated and can give valuable information on the forums. Even if half of it is crap! lol

I am going on my second year and I just enjoy my time creating new friendships or having idle chat with people.

I hope all those who really do look for a relationship will find their best friend and love. This world could use more love

I joined in the hopes of meeting that special one. Instead I have met friends who are now family.

I consider myself lucky to have them in my life. In good times and bad we are there for each other.

While still living in PA. I had the pleasure of having dinner with Summerlady numerous times an adorable sweetheart who I am honored to call friend. This sweet lady also took time from her own busy schedule to visit me in the nursing home.

Recently I met Thumper, Suz, Carebear, and Poison. I had the pleasure of meeting Caamken when he was here for bike week.

In the near future I am going to meet Marie55, Gypsy, and not sure who else when I visit the west coast.

I am so happy to have stumbled on this site. I now have an extended family and friends who touch my heart deeply. I would be lost without them.

Yeah, ok...so I followed Lori (loulou) and Lee (Jess642) Sherrie (Artgurl) and a few others, here to the "now" mingle2. Not too close though..Those sudden stops get a bit...well.....all that poking is making me horney you guys.

My gals and missing gal friends are dear to me and I will always have them in my heart.

Another mass exodus would be waaaay to hard on me. So...lets just stay here ladies.

I doubt I ever meet another man to be in my life.....but I can look at the pictures can't I? Ok...that is why I am really here. The pics. Especially those ones that a gal finds every now and again and lets us see behind the scenes before it gets deleted. Woo hoo!!!

A friend of mine told me about this site. I came to make more friends, possibly more. I have since messaged a few people, some answered back, some didn't. That is ok though. I have also met 1 man off here, in person, a very nice man, and plan on meeting another. So far just friends, nothing more.
I also enjoy reading the forums. Some have made me laugh, which is a good thing. I post my reply on a few, not many yet, but as I get more time, I will.
Keep up the good topics everyone!

Liked it better when it was JustSayHi. Whatever, I have not yet actually met anyone in person here over what, a 2 year period. Doesn't compare with Fish or other sites for actually meeting people.
