Is anyone else excited on the new batman game comming out? i think it might actually be good.

Not really. Most games run well short on gameplay and way long on cinematics, which is quite disappointing to hardcore gamers. Chances are that the new Batman game will pretty much continue with that trend of being able to finish the game in less than a day.

A game that was guilty of this was FEAR 2- it looked pretty good, but the gameplay was beyond snooze-ville. In an era of Half-Life 2 and Fallout 3, you'd think they'd churn out more inventive gameplay and stuff that would take more than a day to complete.

The previews look great. Superheros offer so much potential for gameplay, but have historically not lived up to their hype. Does anyone remember Superman64 or does that really date me?

The Metal Gear Solid series had a lot of cinematics, but they balanced it out pretty well I think.

But, yeah, this game is on my radar, and is one I'll have to try out.

I'm hoping it will be as good as the videos I've seen of it...Batman needs a bloody good game now, hopefully this one is.

Although I tend to agree with Moof, a lot of games are just cinematic masterpieces anymore and very few have anything remotely entertaining as far as gameplay. F.E.A.R. 2 is a good example of how to take a really good game and turn it into a worse sequel, I uninstalled 2 and still play the first one.
