Do you forget that it was the Bush regime that got us into this financial mess?

You dare lay the blame of a recession on the head of one man? Impossible. The fact is, American middle-class home owners got us into this mess. They believed that their houses would keep gaining value indefinitely, so they made very unwise financial decisions. When the prices of those houses dropped, we got financial turmoil. Bush and Paulson saved us from the worst of it by saving the financial corporations, but were unable to stop the recession all by themselves.

Try turning off MSNBC for once, pick up an Economist.

Bush was never part of the "solution", more a part of problem. He may not be soley responsible, I agree, but in one term he borrowed more money, creating more debt, than all his predecessors combined! His father is 2nd on that list now topped only by George jr..

Not about homeowners, all about the Fed and corporate control of the system. Homeowners don't control the future of our fiat money.

Think "Wizard Of Oz"! Bush, Obama..... front men, controlled by the few men behind the curtain. They are fallguys, distractions, expendible, only the appearance of power.

Obama is doing great considering what he inherited. I will take him over any of the other options available anyday.

Even if it puts the country in to ruinous debt? Huckabee, Ron Paul, or even Bill Richardson could not have done a worse job of combating this recession.

Your opinion and you know what they say about opinions......

Obama is going to do well and we will all be fine.

Can't say that I agree with either one of you. We are in deep sh!t and the stimulus package is the equivalent of an economic Hail Mary pass. If Obama does it right it could pull us out, but I have serious doubts about his ability to do that. The Bail-out was totally botched part Bush's fault for pushing it through and part congress for not doing their job and stopping it without proper checks. What little I've seen of the stimulus package is starting to look like an even worse debacle than that. But there simply isn't enough that we can see yet for anyone to hazard an intelligent guess as to whether or not it will do what supporters claim it will do.

Obama reminds me of giving a teenager a credit card and telling her to only buy what she needs for school and opening up the statement and learning she charged $5000.00 in a single day.I'm so happy I didn't vote for this clown.Hard to believe people still support him. He's 10 times worse than Bush.

Don't want to pick sides here. But our financial mess isn't a direct result from Bush's actions. If you look at america's economy of the last 80 years or so, you will find the only thing keeping us from drowning earlier are things like the technology boom of the 90's.

Look at our budget. 1/3 of our budget, this is 100% of our income tax, goes to merely paying the interest on our national debt. Why do we never pay this off? Because it is impossible. 100% of all american currency going into circulation is actually a bank loan. Their excuse? The FED controls interest rates, and therefore control the economy... LOL!!! They tax the hell out of the rich and poor combined using inflation. Then they take income tax on top of that. Then they turn around and tax the hell out of corporations, and encourage things like minimum wage, and benefits when some businesses can't afford it. This drives them overseas. Their solution? Raise minimum wage, have the government buy and close off failing businesses, raise unemployment benefits instead of preventing unemployment. Start government jobs that have nothing to do with our economy...

This started long before G.W. It is a common misconception.

Another thing you need to think about is the difference between Bush's and Obama's administrations... Is there any? Not much at all if you get down to the heart of their political philosophies.

your so overwhelmed by hatred you just voted for any one i bet.

i cant believe how many pure idiots we have in America that don't care about them self's or any one else enough to truly look at candidates and select the one that is focused on personal liberties, there were two fairly good candidates Dennis would've been a good choice if you are more of the type of person that labels your self as a democrat and Ron for any one that likes freedom and associates more with libertarianism and or republican.

Can't solve our economic problems unless we raise our GDP... What has anyone done in favor of that yet?

Even if it puts the country in to ruinous debt? Huckabee, Ron Paul, or even Bill Richardson could not have done a worse job of combating this recession.

There is no debt. Relax. It isn't real.

Have you ever played monopoly? Were you in debt from playing it and losing? No? Why?

We're not in debt for the same reason. The money isn't real, so isn't the debt as well.

Using that same monopoly example, say, 3/4 of players are in debt to 1/4 of the players. There is our problem. Now, we are going to solve it, and it will not be pretty.

We are going to go get some paper and scissors and make about 10 times as much new money as we already have in the game. Then we need to insert it into the game in some fashion. We could, of course just give it to the players in debt, but then everybody would realize that this is only a game.

So instead, we are going to spend it on crap. The choice of crap doesn't matter, as long as the money is in the game, in hands of players.

Oh, and for the debt, we can chalk that up on the board somewhere. It is not going to matter. Why? Check this out, pay attention, though, or as they used to say, observe: Last time we did that paper creation, we made what, say 1 million dollars? Say that was our debt. Well, now we create 10 mils, so go ahead and use one to pay the debt, or to pay the interest on it. Have fun.

Now, back to those 3/4 of our players in debt. Their debt is what? 1000 ? Well, give them ten. Now, they are 9 up. Not too bad. Everybody wins!

Remember the movie Six days and seven nights , or something like that with Harrison Ford playing a pilot on Hawaii? When he was lost, and the chick that was with him, her boyfriend was having lots of fun with a local girl. Remember she says that after the funerals, everybody have sex? Yeah! That's what we're talking about! But then he say: "No.... not everybody..." and ruins everything.

Same here. Not everybody wins, not exactly. Because the prices are going to jump 10 times on everything in the game, as well. Good news: wages and salaries (prices for labor) are going up too! Bad news? Not everybody is on wage and salaries. Namely, older people, are on what's called "fixed income". That isn't going to go up. So, that is the only tiny part that sucks. But, not for us, not yet, anyway.

There is a poetic justice to this exercise. Those old farts? They screw somebody else as well, before, to bail themselves out, just like now, except the amount of new paper they had to make, was much less, so that is what they boasting today, as evidence of their supposed sanity, versus our insanity. Not true. They printed just as much more than the previous generation did. And it all started from that sob, FDR. Anyway, when they crawl out from their nice and comfy houses and onto their new card boxes, don't cry for them, ask them instead, how does it feel.

Between Bush and Nobama, I'll pick Bush any day.

At least with Bush around we were fighting a winnnable war.

You really are young aren't you. Ugh
