Are you uncomfortable saying "I love you" to your significant other when around other people? No, I wouldn't have any problem, I'd even hold her hand and kiss her, hug her, PDA is alright in moderation, as long as it's kept classy.

HOWEVER, I know I am uncomfortable with someone saying it to me, especially in front of others, when I am not on the same footing (even if it is just a matter of not being there YET.) Too much responsibility, worry for others, and guilt when I just can't go there...

In the past, my problem has been that I said it before I knew for sure, and ended up getting screwed over. I'm not uncomfortable saying it, publically or privately. I just have to remember to be sure b4 I say it again.

Heh...Well, I won a Valentine Day writing contest and completely surprised my wife of 11 years by winning her a nice (not huge)diamond ring. In front of 500 of my small town's movers and shakers (it was a charity dinner), I nervously proclaimed my love for her and read the mushy letter I wrote. Much laughter and tears were flowing...I felt like the most romantic dude around. Our love had always been very sound, now the whole town knew it. Two months later, she met an old boyfriend, typed to him for a week, and dumped me. I never saw it coming. What a chump, huh? Damn that sucks.. Sorry...

I have no problem telling anyone that I love that I love them, that speaks volumes abut people also for sure. I dont think Id want to spend too much time with someone who couldnt express themselves. Dont think we should ever be ashamed of love. I tell my FRIENDS I love them too sometimes, Life is short, I wanna love hard.
