Generousity & good works are a joy to the soul & a blessing to others. When was your last "Random act of kindness" & what was it. This is not to brag about yourself but to give others ideas that they can copy.

I believe that what goes around does eventually come around
acts of generosity and kindness to others are great Those who do will be blessed one way or the other in the end Kudos to all who show kindness and generosity to their neighbors |

I do try every day that I'm around others to either give a smile open a door for someone else regardless of age or sex. And last night gave out my number to another member that will be meeting someone around the area soon just in case things do not work out. And it was one that I have never really spoke with on the forums. But you know unless you give your heart and show others you care how do you expect anyone to show you the same respect?

The last thing of any significance was building a friends ex-wife a computer out of some spare parts that I had so she could get online. Also went and picked her up to take her to work and home every day.
Matter of fact: her ex husband posted in this thread. lol Actually I think I built her that computer so she had a way to bug him!!! (JUST KIDDING, MAN!) |

I like to surprise people with little gifts when I can.
If I have extra and I know someone needs something, then I try to share with them. I take un-needed household items and clothing, etc., to the "free store" rather than Goodwill. That way people who are really in need (and seems to be a lot of them around now with so many out of work) they can take what they want for free and not have to pay for it. |

Today: Shopped; paid for groceries, to feed eight people, in need for two weeks. Had a neighbor, take it to them.

I do what I can whenever I can...
I've stopped traffic to get a momma duck and her babies across the intersection that was a week ago.. in the past I've taken very elderly ladies home from the supermarket b/c it was 90+ degrees outside and I wouldn't want my grandmother enduring that... I once picked a really drunk 50+ woman up from wandering in the middle of the road and driven her home b/c I didn't want something bad to happen to her... A few other things but those are the ones that stick in my mind the most... |

I work at a University and have a work study student help in my office three days a week. One evening I was attending a seminar and asked her to go along. Big surprise for her, they served us a prime rib dinner. Not only did she have a real world experience, she received a great meal to boot!

Riding my bike by the front of my apartments I saw a guy trying to bring a dryer down the steps. I quickly pulled over, threw down my bike and helped him get it dow. That was about two weeks ago.
Last night I was counseling a friend of mine trying to get her over her break up with her boyfriend from months ago. But I don't know that that counts as a 'random act' of kindness. |

Generousity & good works are a joy to the soul & a blessing to others. When was your last "Random act of kindness" & what was it. This is not to brag about yourself but to give others ideas that they can copy. I own a small business. I employ mostly 20 something kiddos just starting out in life. Quite often they run into some financial difficulties which I'm most likely to help them with. I give them 0% interest loans which they pay back @ $50/ week. I give them rides to and from work if their car isn't working. I do my best to arrange their work schedules to suit their lives. And sometimes I actually get all my money back. But not often. If all the people I've lent money too suddenly paid me back all at once, I could buy a Lexus w/ cash. I like helping people when I can. But it gets more difficult everytime I get ripped off. I suppose I could become the proverbial scrooge but that would kill me inside. Any thoughts? |
