I have a strict rule on that as well. Until the divorce is final, either party could have a "change of heart" and suddenly decide they needed to try to make the marriage work. I wholeheartedly encourage that, given the divorce rate in our country. However, I'd prefer that my heart not get broken as a result, so until the ink is dry on the divorce decree, I don't even consider dating that person.

After 3 years of a no-fighting separation, a completely amicable divorce and not a single issue to be decided by the court, my divorce will be final on Wednesday 4/22! Gotta love the court system here, they're the ones who couldn't get it together

It took me almost 4 years , i haven't even seen her ( Thank the lord) but samething here clean divorce, no property, no kids!! Congrats to you!! April truly will be a special month

NOOOOOOOOO F-ing way. Not if they were the last man on earth. I also will not be the first person a divorced guy dates.
My standard response: You need to end your marriage before you start another relationship. I do not care if it is only a legal definition, use this time to get over your marriage and be ready to meet someone new. No married person is ready to date, in my opinion. I don't want or need anyone in my life who is still enmeshed in a relationship. A new person will not help you get over the last person, and I hope you settle your divorce amicably and amenably. I am not interested in married or separated men. Good luck. |

Sure... you said Date.. not like you'd be hooking up right off or flying away to get married in another country... Just a date or five...
Might I also add; my idea of date is to get to know someone and spending time with them... it takes months of dates for me to get to the point of a relationship where you become exclusive. |
