he probably doesn't want an item but more of a gesture. cook him dinner, snuggle up with him on the couch. hold his hand. show him that he's the only man in the world. in your eyes at least. . . . |
Make him a toilet paper image of him.........men like that!!!

i don't know about other guys, but for me, if i need something i just go buy it. when someone does something for me or buys me something that i don't need or want but they know that it's something that i would like, that's special.
for example, i like knives. i'm not obsessed, but a good knife comes in handy. anyway, one year my mother went to germany and switzerland and brought me back a swiss army knife with my name ingraved in it. i was impressed. . . . |

Yea so my bf's bday is coming up this weekend and I have NOOO idea what to get him. Of course the times I've asked him what he likes or wants his standard reply is "nothing" you don't have to get me anything. I know I don't have to. But I want to. His bday also happens to fall on our 1 year anniversary so I wanna make it special. Any suggestions?? come on guys, what have been some good gifts you have had or something that you would like to get? I know it sounds generic, but a lot of men like gift cards. I found this out at Christmastime. Just an idea . |

It does depend on the price budget...I liked the hire a harley for a day, or something really random, like bungy jumping, or drive a race car on the track....
use your imagination, you KNOW him, and his hot buttons... |

Alright...
Having dealt with mechanics and managed auto/truck shops I can tell you that many are obsessed with tools. You can never have enough tools. Professional mechanics use Snap-On or Mac or one of the higher end brands, but you won't find them at a store. So this will take some effort on your part, and he'll know that. My suggestion: Track down his Snap-On (or whatever brand he uses) dealer and get him a gift certificate. Easiest way to do that is to know where he works, call the manufacturer (again, Snap-on, etc.) and ask them who the dealer is for that shop. Most have cell phones and will answer it if you call. Chances are, you'll have to meet him somewhere at a specific time because they all work out of mobile showrooms (trucks). I have no idea what your price range is, but $50.00 or more will get him something he might not have spent his own money on, but may have had his eye on. If you want to personalize your gift, throw in that massage from you or the evening of dinner and snuggling. Yes, guys like that, too. And... not knowing him at all, it might be that he will be thrilled with the dinner, massage, and snuggling by itself. :D Good luck. This is just my suggestion. |

Being a mechanic .. I think all suggestions are good SO FAR ... if he is a working "wrench" then stop ANY Snap-On truck you see and ask the driver IF they have gift certificates, OR .. there is a line of gloves, Mechanix, I think that some wrenches will wear when doing some jobs , working with tires or brakes . I know I wear them when ROTATING tires and they are inexpensive.
OR BEERS always work ...good luck |

underwear. I allways like to get underwear.

Mechanic...Buy him a tool belt. With you wearing it and nothing else.

You know his likes, so be it a quiet dinner out or something you fix, that is special to him. Many men like to keep it low profile, but love the attention. So show your love/caring, in some nice manner, that you BOTH enjoy.
