Great game yesterday.
Anyone else see Burish almost get his throat cut? |

saw it. saw Malarchuk too. scary. close call.
thought the play was fairly even for the first two but tilted more and more to the Wings all night. the Wings looked like determined relentless defending champs. quite a machine. once they got up 3-2 they went for the kill like an even money Cup favorite on a feeding frenzy. Hawks have their work cut out. Pens and Canes opening tonight. Should be lots of fun! |

No matter the result of the Wings v. Hawks series is I am a happy camper!
It's a terrific match up. Taking myself out to the bar for game two woohoo |

Great game yesterday. Anyone else see Burish almost get his throat cut? Yeah, that was scary. Thank goodness we didn't have another Richard Zednik incident. Like s1ow said, the Hawks have a lot of work to do as it seemed like the layoff did more harm than good for them. Good game between the Canes v. Pens, although the Pens dominated and Ward kept them in the game. Fleury came up big in the last couple minutes, though. As much as it pains me to say this, it looks like it'll be a Stanley Cup rematch between the Wings and Pens. |

Hawks might bite 'em in the caboose yet! We got a barnburner going tonight - lookin like OT!
The Canes are no pushovers either. Pens got lucky yesterday and they know they have to play better. Playoff Hockey |

Wow. What a game. Hawks had a great one. Tough one to lose.
That's gotta HURT. Youch. But they outplayed the Wings much of the night. Yes sir they did. |

Depression setting in now that my Hawks are down 2-0 to the hated "Dead Things" from Detroit.... OUCH!

Depression setting in now that my Hawks are down 2-0 to the hated "Dead Things" from Detroit.... OUCH! The Pens were down 2-0 to the Caps. But yeah. You hate to get in the hole like that. Hawks will just have to outplay them again for a couple of games and even it up. Uphill climb. |

So I ventured out last night here in Raleigh to watch the Wings/Hawks game, and as I got in the bar, I noticed the game wasn't on ANY of the 20+ tvs in the place. I had to request it. This is a sports bar, mind you. I caught the last period and ot, what a thriller. I'm pulling for Detroit because when (not if) my canes win the cup this year, I want us to have gone through all the best teams. I still think it's sad that Pittsburgh couldn't postpone "The Boss" for playoff hockey! We pushed back the watermelon-seed-spittin' championships an tractor pullin' quarterfinals here in Mayberry! I clapped for Detroit and no one knew why. *Sigh*

That's just sad that a sports bar in RALEIGH wouldn't have the game on.

Holy, crap. Are you guys STILL talking about hackey? It's winding down. Then it's going to be discussions on Minnesota's new GM and Head coach. Then we'll have to wait for pre-season. |
