THERE are many who strongly believe in capital punishment...

AN eye for an eye...

DO the crime, do the time...

IF execution was to be the end result for one doing their crime,
how many of those same believer in capital punishment
do you think would still strongly believe in it,
if it were to be one of their own or oneself
having to count down their days of living?

(Being on the knowledge that they are/were guilty
of the loss of another's life/ did the crime/
habital abusers of children/ knew clearly the penalties
of dealing with drugs in foreign countries,
but still one went and did it anyways...)

Interesting thought. I've seen some cases in the news where a sibling or a parent had to turn in their family member. It can be difficult at times to do the right thing.

Well I believe in "death or castration" for those that rape. Molest, exploit children- for any kind of gain whatsoever!!!

It's always different when you're personally involved. But that's what is great about "law". It's just a fact, not a personal opinion.

There are varying degrees of murder. A father can murder someone who raped and murdered his child, and I can understand that. But a serial killer who stalks women, abducts, tortures, and kills them has no rights as far as I'm concerned. He should be put to death. Why should my tax dollars pay for his desire to live? We have schools closing down now due to a lack of funding; yet we're building more jails to accommodate more undeserving criminals. What are we telling our kids?

If my son were a serial killer, I don't know how I'd feel about it then. But I do believe in capital punishment, so I'd have to accept the law and his fate, I suppose.

There are criminals who are broken, called psychopaths. It is my belief that the death penality still exists because of these people.
They won't get better, they won't give a crap ever, and they will never be a productive member of society.

It is my opinion that the criminal justice system's first priority is to keep society safe.

If you think the death penalty is a deterrent, that's ridiculous...

ditto!!! Some people cannot be helped or even want to be helped. Why waste the tax payers money on people who continually kill, rape, molest children???noway

But aren't psychopaths a rather small sample of the total population?

There ARE people who do not deserve to be on this earth. Child molestors, killers, rapists, etc. But there should be a distinction between the 20 year old wo got drunk and killed someone and the guys that will kill anyone, anytime for that minimum level of cash thats their mark. Or just for the hell of it.

The problem with the death penalty is that it takes 20 years to get it. Automatic appeals, etc. Repeat violent offenders know the system and know that their crew is there and that they'll be in the game. Some like it there.

If we KNOW, without a doubt that some guy is a serial molestor, killer and just all out bad guy, then we need to do it the same way that they do it in Russia. take them immediatley to a concrete room with a drain in the floor, tell them "Please do not turn around" and put a bullet in the back of their heads. Done. Thats like 15 cents retail for a .45 bullet and a few dollars for a clean up crew.

I did some time in the 70s (LASP @ Angola) and can tell you that theres still guys there running game, making money, gettin' high and who have grown accustomed to, if not comfortable, with that life. Guys that I was there with...35 years ago. Lifers make it there, and they do it at the expense of guys that just made a mistake. Lets put a sock in these liberals who wouldn't know the reality of the real world until it sticks a gun in their face and start taking these guys out of our misery.

Lots of people don't know the difference between psychopaths and psychotics. Unlike most people, I think that, even if you are psychotic, and medication hasn't helped you, you're too damn crazy to be on earth if you go around killing folks. Psychopaths, those who know what they do and plan and connive crimes and escapes...goes without saying.

Im also fairly certain that the true psycopaths, you'd never suspect. Charming, intelligent, etc. The nice quiet guy next door.

Aww Gypsy unknown really is just a product of not knowing who your parent(s) is/are, not as exciting as it sounds.

And yes, psychopaths hurt on purpose and do not feel remorse. They brag about inflicting pain, often hurt animals, and treat people as though they are not people. They rarely hold down jobs, have no stable relationships of any kind, and usually abuse drugs or alcohol. Nothing is their fault... nothing. They tend to be very bright, criminalistic, and manipulative.

Psychotic people are mentally ill individuals subject to hospitailzation.

Psychopaths are NOT mentally ill persons subject to hospitalization.
