"Did you walk or did you ride away?"
If you saw someone who was obviously troubled with something, would you ask if they were alright (keep in mind this is a complete stranger)? Or would you continue along your way? If you continued along would you wonder if they were alright? |

Strangers are people too. I would stop and ask if they need something, or how can I help them. I would be able to get them out of my head if I didnt.

"Did you walk or did you ride away?" It's 'run' away. And yeah, I stop to help strangers in need whether they're really troubled or they just look like they could use a hand. Riding my bike the other day and quickly pulled off the sidewalk and dropped my bike to help a guy bring a washing machine downstairs in front of his apartment. And today helped my new upstairs neighbors with a matress it looked like they were having trouble with. So whether they're in serious trouble or just look like they could use a hand, I'm always willing to put aside what I'm doing to help 'em out. |

Do that all the time. Stopped or pull up and ask if they need to use my phone, or when it's a fender bender I have called the police for them. I'd want someone to check on me.

I'd stop and see if I could be of assistance too.
I stopped to help an older man in the rain once. His car wouldn't start and I asked if he needed a "jump". He informed me in an annoyed manner that he didn't have any jumper cables. I said, "Well, I do!" Ok, ok, he said, scowling at me. He sat in his car while I worked in the rain connecting the cables to our cars. When his started, I disconnected them and put them away. He shouted out his window, "Shut that hood!" When I shut his hood, he backed up and left without a word of thanks. I still think about that grumpy old man, and for some reason it makes me smile. The experience hasn't deterred me from helping others in similar situations. |
