between my old life and my new
She is the only thing that connects us
this small piece of me and you

You walked away, you fell in love
you left us far behind
I try to keep my temper in check
and for her sake to you be kind

We are nothing more than trophies
that you can sit upon some shelf
more concerned with what others think
about your looks, your talents and wealth

Walk away, do not look back
I can do it on my own
Raise this gift from God above
until she is full grown

One day you will finally turn around
and then she will be gone
Nothing from you will she want
for it was you alone that broke that bond

And as for me, I will too be gone
living my life on my own
You gave it all away when you left
Your wife, your child and your home.

Thank you for the advice - it is a lovely site and I opened an account today. Maybe I can post everything together. It will be nice to read everything under one "roof" so to speak and reflect on my reflections.
