While the administration is "against" global currency, we may not have a choice. There was a good thread a few days back started by myself on the topic and how we are on track whether we like it or not.

Not really knowing all that much about global currency, does seem easier when all money is the same everwhere,no? So why would that nessessarily be a bad thing?

I understand what you are saying. When looking at it form an outside perspective, on the surfaced it looks like a good idea. But...

We as a country would lose control over our own currency. That is why. Americans would no longer have a say in what happens in our own country.

If it's a global currency it will be controlled by a global bank. Basically the one world version of our federal reserve.

So, let's say we need the money for some reason, like we always do (see our national debt rise by almost a trillion a year). In order to borrow money we need to get it approved by a councel appointed by the world governments. The U.S. is but one country out of many, yes?

The state of everyone else's economy would also directly affect us, and vice versa. There would no longer be an American economy. It would be a World Economy. So, the market regulations would also have to be ultimately controlled by this counsel outside the U.S. too. See where this is going?

A central bank is a goo idea in theory. Problem is they can't accurately predict our economic booms and recessions so they can compensate for it. This is where we get our "bubbles". Unfortunately in order to accurately predict this, the market needs to be heavily controlled, and the consumers must be completely tracked. We are talking no paper money here, just electronic transactions tracible to your name.

Not to mention this is all highly illegal...

Nope, it's not.

On the other hand, the world is increasingly dependent on one another economically. We depend heavily on China, for instance. And our recession has caused others to fall into this recession. This is why you saw gas prices drop by so much, so suddenly last year. We were collapsing for a while. The value of our dollar dropped way down. Then, other countrys started hurting, and printing money. When their currency devalues in comparison to ours things like oil comes down in price. At least this affect is indirect.

But who knows. Either way i don't feel comfortable with someone else controlling our markets and economy.

This is why i push for us to be self sufficient. This is also why i push for a free market because it would allow us to be self sufficient.

It doesn't matter. You and everyone else already share the same currency.

The only people who would lose anything, are the bankers and the government.
