Topic: Why cant it be fixed again?

So why is it again, with all the intelligence and common sense we posses
as the human race, we still live in a world full of ourselves. People
claim to be tolerant, only until it conflicts with how they perceive
right or wrong to be. We still wont work together because we think that
someone will have an edge over us. Everybody, myself included, seems
self righteous- and i dont care who you are, you feel it too maybe its a
small thing or a big one but somewhere, sometime in your life youve been
a self righteous c*ck. No one seems willing to stand up and take
responsibility for anything, deferring instead to let the blame float
around until it sticks to someone else.
People have in the past made uninhabital lands habitable. Developed
technology that has been used to help cure disease, water fields, save
life. We are living longer and with that is supposed to be wisdom. What
happened to the wise man/woman?
I truely do not understand why we cant unite to infact do what we know
we can do, and yes it might sound a bit precocious but damn we can save
the world. There just has to be a will to do it. A coming together, aww
but there are those who dont want it. They'd rather live back in the
days of "simpler times" when people died before reaching thirty, and
life was more difficult. The stone ages- oh what fun- what BS. The world
needs to get over themselves, all of us. So the question is posed, WTF?
Why cant we seem to do any right any more? Why can we not fix the things
that are broken? And for the non American disbelievers out there, why
cant you do something to help fix it as well. Or is being jacked up all
the world can handle? Dont blame industry, blame ourslef, for we are
industry, all of us, unless your a canibal tribe still living in the
jungle you have used some form of human advancement.
They say one person cant make a difference, why is that?
Why cant one society? why cant the world?
\
OK Im done preaching, for those of you who actaully read, thank you. For
all you pretencious people who will condescend screw you, and those who
want to laugh- your welcome.

Its the social rat theory,,,,

They put x # rats in a box X by X sq. they give the rats enough food and
the rats have plenty of room. They are happy more food than they can eat
and plenty of room to grow.

Man they multiply screwing their little rats ass off. soon the box is
full they cant hardly move, the food is short because even though food
is put in every day the amount was never increased

then the rats start fighting, they start killing each other, disease
ravage the colony and soon there is only a few rats left in the box and
the cycle repeats itself over and over.

Just be a survivor Doc, just be a survivor...

They say Doc that rats are the oldest mammal, and that we are a lot like
them. We are like the rats in that box. If you look around at the Earth
today and see the violence and selfish attitudes. The diseases, water
shortages, and violence, take that and judge where in the cycle we as a
human race are now. I believe we are all crazy.....

Asking the question Why?

is one thing...acknowledgement that this world is one big fractured
mess.

Asking the question, How?

Is recognising the fractures and looking at ways to resolve the
fractures.

We are a part of the All...this world.

How can it be fixed?

Im tired of surviving man, feels like Im walking around like a trained
freaking elephant or something.

you remember being in an airplane, ever look out the window when it was
37000 feet in the air, did you ever see the ground? What was it you saw,
coast to coast cities? No way- land, you see land everywhere, theres
plenty of room on the planet on every continent too, not just ours- so
although I do agree with you about the fighting rats, i dont believe its
the space thats the trouble.

I have to admit that we are spoiled rotten in most of the western world.
We have become quite complacent and even lazy in our attitudes towards
each other and the world around us.
There is a lot of finger pointing and passing the buck.
I'm not here to defend myself because I'm just as guilty of it for not
trying to do more about the actual problems. I recycle, reuse, limit my
driving, buy bulk, have energy efficient appliances, live in a small
house, blah blah blah.
We do have a lot of excellent programs here in Alberta to promote a
greener and healthier way of living but none of that will do any good
until our federal government and industry start making a concerted
effort to clean up their act.
As individuals it's extremely difficult to make these changes on our
own.

we can but we need to stop bein lazy then again we have so many
distractions

I also am tired of just surviving as an individual.

instead of askin how to fix it I will ask...

How can I fix it so that we may survive as a species.

I have only my voice and my actions.

I feel like the little dutch boy with his finger in the wall trying to
hold back the ocean.

I didnt say we were at the end of our cycle, and our's is a lot longer
than the rats in the box.
There is a lot of land, more out west, but a lot of it is uninhapitable,
no water, no life. too steep, no way. already the waste has become a
problem, and air pollution is killing the planet, diseases are
everywhere, people are killing each other over land, and tennis shoes,
stupid sense less violence. Sure we could ease some of the worlds
problems and let them all come here, and the problems seems alieviated,
the leak in the roof doesnt drip, because it quit raining kinda thing,
but for how long, before we are in the same shape?

How many individuals recognise the impacts of our global leaders
actions, our large corporations, are having world wide?

And in a less than positive way?

Complacency, depair, resignation, is death waiting to happen. And not
just for ourselves.

We can live with the fairytale that this amazing, gimme, gimme, life
will go on forever...until it doesn't.

That's fine I guess if one is asleep, the walking dead.

I am not dead, I am wide awake, I am but one person out of 6.6
billion...a tiny voice from a long way away...not even an echo, really.

But I am an not alone, unity, acknowledgement, boycotting, big
businesses, being uncomfortable for the greater good...nothing comes for
free.

NOT feeling separated, NOT allowing the brainwashing to continue. Call
out the Liars.

The Emperor's New Clothes comes to mind...and all it took was a single
child, to call out the farce...

you would think eventually we would get that moment of clarity.
realization that whether or not we like each other we still belong to
one another.

the waters seeping in, i'll help push you but eventaully man, we got to
split the scene, i dont do drowned rat very good.

Im with you ad, we need to speak up. Tell them to seal our borders, quit
sending our jobs away, And let the rats in the box happen around us,
maybe. hopefully, survive as Americans.
I think they call that isolationist though. I call it survival!!!

Yep siege mentality...sheesh!!!

Seal the walls!!!!

How the f*ck is that going to solve anything, when the rot is already
deep within your own country?

My country, that I live in?

Gonna rot from the inside?

That will fix it...

KariZ some saw the writing on the wall fourty years ago, twenty years
ago..

So what, we prepared?

We have all we need?

Hate to say this mate, but you don't get off so lightly either...

'Cause you cant stop the rest of the world killing your air, fighting
their way into oblivion.

You may be independent from society...but you have to live on the Earth,
like the rest of us.

I was saying I havent gave up but , what ever we do The end result will
be the same. There will be isolated groups of survivors scatterred
across the world. Unless you slow births by limiting the number that
people can have, its inevitable. If we cant survive as a nation then its
down to communities and neighborhoods, and then to small groups or gangs
eventually it the individual. Its a bleak picture and I hope Im not here
to see it. Thus I do all I can to prolong the inevitable.
