Obviously you are not with me...

I am not talking about surviving as an american. I am talking about
surviving as a member of the human race.

Not survival of my country while millions die elsewhere.

But survival as a citizen of the world. This small insignificant sphere
we call earth is important to the survival of america. Without the rest
of the world we would rapidly become a wasteland. With out the
continent of the americas the rest of the world would rapidly become a
wasteland.

The time of survival of the fittest is done. Only the survival of the
species will satisfy me.

well do we fall in line like cattle at the slaughter house or what?

it would be so easy not to care, to live on oblivious to the life going
on around me tucked away on the side of my hill. But what kind of person
would I be then? "normal" nah, no way screw that, normal is for the
complacent.

I dont know (yet) what to do, or where or what battles to fight. But I
sense there coming, not the sky is falling sense mind you, just a hunch
that the world cant maintain the status quo. 6.6 million huh? well im
one of those, and I'll be damned dipped in sh1t if Im going to let some
better than thouist tell me what is ok and what is not. But its not
about the richman over the poorman, its about man in general, their
sleeping behind the wheel. Swirving between the lines so to speak,
someone needs to pull them over and check the blood alcohol levels,
maybe give them a wake up slap or something.

who knows- guess we'll just continue to sit on the sidelines and wait
huh?

Limit births you can put it off for years....Ad, thats all Im saying,
What ya going to do??? Slow it down, I agree there are ways to slow it
down but stop it, come up with a miraculous cure all brainstorm...I dont
think so, and if you limit births thats just a part of the violence.
That aint going to work..

Is there a way to stop greed?
Haven't people figured out that you can't eat money?
What good is a million dollars going to do after all the bees are dead,
the water is totally polluted and the sun scorches your hide?
The economy where I'm at is in top 5 in the world at the moment. It's
unreal what atrocities are being committed for buck.

Reality is the only way to approach the inevitable and keep prolonging
it as long as we can till one of the small groups get hold of a nuke .
Or maybe a large political quarrel causes WWIII. Just survive...

Why limit births?

to do such a thing dilibrately would kill us as surely as if the earth
were hit by an asteriod it would just take longer.

C'mon fanta where is your human at today.

WE ARE THE HUMAN RACE WE CAN DO ANYTHING WE PUT OUR EFFORTS INTO.

If we put our efforts into a worthwhile adventure the universe itself
will assist us.

We can prolong it, I dont know how long, I agree you cannot limit
births, that was sarcastic, but right here where I live the mountains we
are having landslides from the building on and cutting away of the
mountain sides the trees are dying due to acid rain from the mid west
and Ohio river valley. The population by the year 2025 is expected to
increas 7 fold, and wher do you think they are coming from? Its
Globalization, they come from Russia, lots and lots from Russia, but at
least they are legal. Then there are 1, 000's of illegal immigrants,
mostly from Mexico, but also Guatamala, Nigaraqua, Honduras, and most
fly here come to see family they just never go home, and noone comes to
look for them. There are people coming here from everywhere on the
earth, why, there is habital, beautiful land, but not for long, not at
this rate 7 x in less than 20 years. Globalization, who is the biggest
loser? US,thats who, and who is initiating it? Our government thats who.
Its inevitably going to cause violence the box is shrinking...

REALITY!!!

The last wake up slap that I recall that had any impact on the
world...and yes, it impacted the world in some way, was on the 11th of
September a few years ago.

Had an affect alright...a poor one, a horrible one, a Nation was in
shock, a world was in shock...

What was the reaction to the fear, the horror, the sense of
vulnerablity?

Has it helped?

Has it done good?

The next wake up call may come from the Earth itself...seems a hurricane
didnt do it...a tsunami didn't do it...wonder what will.

Even if we in the western world could put aside our differences. What
about the developing nations like India and China?
They've seen our lavish lives and they want their slice of the pie.
After producing our goods for meagre wages what should they be
expecting. Living in poverty and squalid conditions that we here
couldn't begin to imagine. They're better off than a lot of other
regions across the globe that have even less hope.
Is it possible to come to terms with the rest of the planet?

Did you watch that video? Without immigration our pop is stable. They
preached it to us when I was in grade school that we had to control the
birth rate in this country, or we were condemned to over pop. I remember
it even now, and as a country we did it. Now they are saying we must
take in the rest of the world because they didnt listen. I say bull****.
Teach them to fish so they can feed them selfs..

Having been several places in the world I can tell you that the
lifestyle we live here has got to change.

We even some of the poorest of americans live a quality of life that
some in the world can't even dream of.

the best way to keep them from comming here is to raise their quality of
life where they live.

Which means shifting some of our job base to them. Which of course
means our quality of life will drop.

But hey... Are you willing to give up some of your quality of life so
that a person in the third world will go from sharing a bowel of rice
with 4 other people to eating thier own bowel. From walking 12 miles to
get a sack of food to his family to possibly growing his own food.

thats what it may take. That and more. Does not the average american
household have 2 cars. Most have at least one computer if not 3 or 4.
Most have a microwave. Most have several TV's. Most have a refrigator
that is stocked with food.

there are places in the world where an entire village may only have a
single place with running water or even a single toilet. Some places
have but a trench. Some places have water only when the water truck
comes.

Would it hurt americans to limit themselves to a single car within a
household. (It would prolly hurt the japaniese

People all over america are screaming about their high paying jobs going
overseas. I know I am going to offend some with this statement but ...

Quit spending more than you can afford and perhaps you might find living
within your new means ain't so hard after all. In the process a person
that has not had the opportunities you have will get a bit of a leg up.

Why doesnt **** cheney, or Bank of america lend one of the good citizens
of Mexico the monet to buid a Coka cola plant. While the factory here
stays here and the workers keep their jobs and we sell Cokes here and
they sell Cokes there? Aye could it be that instead of 200 million in
profit Coke a Cola can make 1 trillion in profit this way( an
exageration of course?) Why do they move the plant and the job there and
the people still come here lower my wages? Greed!!!I dont see the CEO's
losing salaries, their families suffer the reduction in lifestyle!!
Im going to bed good night ,, Peace and remember we are at least
talking!!!!!

Human nature what it is...or what is has evolved into..who would give up
what they have amassed?

I see the amassers just looking around for more...

and the awake ones comfortable with what they have.

Living within in one's means?

Who does that?

Even I owe the phone company, the electric company...the seduction of
have it now, and it is ok, pay for it at the end of the month, is huge.

The instant gratification, the 'quick fix', the whole marketing ploy
designed to feed greed, to foster greed.

Turn off those three tvs for a week, see how insatiable the appetite
still is, now go for a month, a year...

We are conditioned, programmed, forced fed to be well behaved
predictable little drones...

Because for two thousand years or so it has worked...(and they didnt
have tv back then).

"If it isn't broken, don't fix it."

Guess what, we broke it, we pay for it.

Doc, what exactly is it you would have us accomplish?
Here is a microscopically brief list of causes,
Medical research and Development, Echo awareness groups, like
Greenpeace, Scientific Research and development, Outreach programs,
Human Rights organizations, Peace Corp, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Feed
the children, Safeway houses for the abused and dissident, Veterans
donations, meals on wheels, education grants. OMG, it boggles the brain
to attempt to envision all the organizations and charities ‘THE PEOPLE’
support.
Which of these would you have the public stop supporting? I mean
really, think about it, how much effort is directed at getting funding,
how many people are involved in just one of these activities. I suppose
if all effort was concentrated on only one BIG thing, we’d have plenty
of volunteers, and all those billions could be directed to solving one
problem at a time. But who gains and who suffers?

The list above does not include the money contributed to church
organized charities, or local short and long-term charities. And
Federally funded, welfare, and living assistance for the elderly and
working poor, Social Services department. The public supports all
of these too. Do we ban them, in favor of one great cause? After
all, “what’s the life of one, versus the life of many?”

As if these do not reach deep enough into the public generosity, the
government spends billions on war, and the trappings of war, and the
clean-up of war and the creation of war weapons, only to be sold, I
guess to support further war effort. The politicians spend without
conscience, and what we get for that effort is a bunch of muddled up
laws, and a string of new useless seatbelt requirements. They give us
nothing of world events or views. Their sole purpose seems to be to
divert attention away from global events and concentrated them on the
bickering and fighting of internal affairs.

The States alone seem responsible for the echo balance, but a mass
transit system cost too much. Recycling cost too much, so it is paid
for by the public, but only if they choose so to do.

Businesses, instead of having flexible work schedules to allow for car
pooling, extend and increase their hours, some, open for business 7 days
a week, 365 days a year, many 24 hours a day. Gotta keep production up.
But what would we save in energy, if every company, factory, business
shut down for one day a week, or one a month.

Doc, I tell you, THE PEOPLE are doing what they can. They, we, are not
heartless, but what you long to fix, is on a scale that the general
public cannot attain. It DOES take government; Federal, State, and
local working together, It DOES take business, either by mandate or by
conscience, to make changes that could be far reaching.

For this reason, it is most important for us, as a people, to have the
information about world affairs, and voice our concerns to future
politicians. And to have their opinions on them as well, AND THEN WE
VOTE. Again, this is slow, and so we can only do what we can do.
