And freezing it could do!! Something happened to my front door .It was fine all day and then when I came home I couldn't get back in.It won't open from either side now and it is unlocked.Any ideas? Prolly got some water in it that froze. Got any WD40 or anything like that? I'm not sure .where do I put it if I do? Any kind of spray oily stuff, pam will do in a pinch. Spray it in the lock and around the latch. And work it(the handle) gently back and forth and see if that frees it up. Ok ..but the door doesn't appear to be locked. It seem to lock and unlock ok but won't open. MMMMMM? Then the door itself may be jammed. Have you tried putting your shoulder into it. Be carefull don't hurt yourself.

The latch is working fine. it locking and unlocking ok but the door won't budge either from the outside or inside. It is the inside door door and it is steel. it was fine all day we went and couldn't get back in through that door.

Can you actually hear the lock and the latch working? Or is it just the key turning? I can both hear it and see it locking and unlocking. Then the door itself is prolly jammed up with something or got out of alignment somehow. Anything stuck underneath it like a rug or something? Was it hard to close in anyway when you left? Are there any new marks around the outside of it.
