Topic: People with no pictures? | |
---|---|
Personally I think you can see a lot about a person in a picture. You can see frown lines vs. smile lines. You can see kindness or anger in the eyes. You can see confidence or lack there of. A picture tells a story almost as much as the words do. How they hold themselves closed off vs, openness, etc. And none of that is shallow in my opinion.

I really don't have any digital photos of myself, nor do I know how to post them. But I had a friend take some with his camera phone and am awaiting his e-mailing them to me. Until then, enjoy the last Halloween photo of me. Although, to be honesty i am starting to enjoy the fact that i have so anonymotity with that pic mainly because I say a lot of stupid things on these forums.

I think I would rather see a cartoon or no picture versus the people who post pics of someone else and pretend it is them

because if you are so shallow that you need a picture to talk to me i would just as soon you didn't every one talks about shallowness in others but these picture thread show up all the time when you go to another site and find you picture there then maybe you will have a clue Most people here know how I feel about the "NO-PIC" paranoia...but judging how many times this topic comes up, maybe I should change my mind & just say "IT'S A CONSPIRASY, MAN!" Damn! Gotta love it! Too freakin' funny! Like most of us are gonna meet anyway! Geez! get over it, people... |

I can count on one hand the people I have met from here, so the many that don't have a pic, are not an issue. I have met the ones I wanted to.

They want somebody to like them for who they are not what they look like?
I find this to the main reason most of the time. Personally, I think it's one of the biggest cop-out's in the world. If I'm walking down the sidewalk or at a social function, and somebody is there with a bag on their head, I ain't gonna be talking to 'em, I don't care WHAT kind of a person they are. It's not about "shallowness", it's just common sense. when you go to another site and find you picture there then maybe you will have a clue
Due respect, I wouldn't find anybody important enough to try to portray them. This is called fraud, and it's the kind of thing the FBI earns their paycheck from. The only people who wind up with their ass in a sling are the people who do it. As Melody said, it's also paranoia. You may have a high visibility occupation where you don't want people to recognize who you are or that you've tried this sort of thing.
I'll play the "Bullsh!t" card on this one. The only thing this proves is that the people you're afraid might see you on a site like this are here themselves....which STILL makes them no better or worse than you. Like most of us are gonna meet anyway!
T, you KNOW I can dispute this statement! No pic , no service
This pretty much sums it up for me. It's pretty seldom I ever even acknowledge somebody who's face I've never seen. |

no pic, no info in my profile other than my age and hobbies and i'm left alone for the most part except for when i chat in the forums. that's the entire point. some of us are just here to kill time and not meet someone, feel free to move along if this offends you.
this isn't rocket science. |
