If you fell in love with the perfect person, would you stop doing something that they really dislike?

I'd look around for the check-out, for surely I'd be caught in a Wal-Green's commercial!!!!

I don't think they would be 'perfect' for me if they asked me to change.
Accept each other - warts and all - or don't be together. |

If they were truly the perfect person, there would not be anything they disliked.
Unless of course they disliked being perfect. |

There is no perfect person.
But if they were "perfect" for me then they will accept all things good/bad about me. |

It depends. If it's something like "Hey, stop leaving dirty dishes in the living room" or "Hey, stop telling that embarrassing story about me to all your coworkers" then of course I would. But if it's something like "Hey, stop watching dramas" or "Hey, stop being so reserved" - things that question what kind of person you are, or likes you have, or something, then I don't think I could really bring myself to do that. Of course, like MelodyGirl said, if they were a perfect person, I don't think that they would ask you to do something like that.

Not an easy thing to answer, girl! We accept the differences in our partner because we care enough. Of course, it has to go both ways. Now if you are talking about some disgusting habit...Hell, that would be a deal breaker...lol

If you fell in love with the perfect person, would you stop doing something that they really dislike? I have done this more than once with mixed results, mostly negative results. One lady I was getting close to asked me how long I had been clean and sober.. and I said God willing come september it would be 3 yrs (that was a few 24 hours ago)to which she stated "Oh, I hate that!" and so I was like, what, three years? So she say's "No, God willing!" It was a phrase her aunt used all the time and she didn't like that aunt much. So I apologized and said I would try not to use that phrase anymore. Instantly I felt like I had just distanced myself from my higher power, and vowed never to apologize for my belief in or support of my higher power again. I don't flaunt my beliefs, but will never apologize for my beliefs either. And another lady I was engaged to told me I needed to break off any friendships I had with females that I met before meeting her, and being dumbstruck in love (lust) I broke off all contact with some ladies I had been friends with for some time. That will never happen again either. Some of the friendships have since been repaired, but they are not the same as the friendships I once shared with them. I miss the fuller friendships so much. And one last thing that is current... I sometimes have the greeting "Hey, how the Hell are ya?" and my current lady friend whom I have just started dating is not good with that, say's it is cursing and very rude. Just part of my good ole' boy upbringing I guess, nothing rude meant by it. I try not to greet her that way but don't make a big effort to change the greeting to others. Some things are just too meaningless at my age... and some too not worth changing. |

I've never been happier that I'm not perfect than this very moment.... Pfffft, you're pretty damn close. If I was taller than 4'8" I would elaborate on that some more.... |
