I'm not sure if it's been mentioned here, but this AIG bonus anger thing is the ultimate in smoke and mirrors. here the media is reporting and the administration showing "anger" about the millions given in bonuses - all the while distracting from the fact that 1000 times that amount has been thrown into the AIG black hole, all to no avail.

you are right. this last bail out wasn't reviewed closely enough. but they gave them the money and AIG has been getting money for a while now

I think the fact it was political interests and not the company became very apparent in Dodd inserting the provision that allowed them to give the bonuses.
