It was kind of funny.
He talked about mortgages being more affordable. The homeowner who lost his house because of losing his job couldn't afford to buy back his house even if the home was free.

There was nothing funny about it. He was talking very seriously.
He talked about making jobs.

Yep, for the Illegal.
What, is he a Magician and can pull jobs out of thin air?
No and he never said he could. Does anyone expect this man to change this in 60 day's. There are job's out there. Don't say there are not. you may not make 30.00 an hour. but you will be working and paying your way..get 2 job's if you need to.

I find it is funny that a man who thinks about his answers before he speaks instead of speaking the practiced rhetoric is considered ingenuine at some level.

I guess we are so used to the smooth easiness of false rhetoric that we can't appreciate a real thought spoken in earnest, huh?

He didn't caue them to lose their job. He is trying to find a way to help that situation. Some people still have jobs and can't afford the high prices that all are incurring and with the threat of losing more jobs wouldn't it be more likely that they could afford to keep those homes if they were more affordable?

A lot of these people in homes that they cannot afford were put in them by the guise of unscrupulous lenders. Making them believe it was do-able.

Refinancing could be very helpful to those that may still have

Jobs have begun to reamerge here. The stimulus package has seen a little bit of helpful hope. Housing loans have risen a bit according to what I have found tonight. Builders have started to put in for permits again. It is hopeful.

Money has to be spent to make it. That has always been known. Now if I could just find some money to spend. I would be investing in some kind of stock. Now is the time.

We the people have to buckle our spending habits and become part of the fix. Same as the government.

I thought in the beginning of this, that the amount they asked for wasn't enough. But what do I know?

[/quote If one want's to sit back and cry about making min wage..or sit back and say there are no job's...well pitty fall's on the weak. i am old enough to have seen hard time's, did not cry and weap about how hard thing's where on me..brush your self off and tread on...this is what's wrong...poor me!! get a back bone and do something about it. It does not matter if you sweaping a parking lot...@ least you are working and being part of the working class. Wow the only job you start @ the top @ is digging a hole!!!!

I didn't get this...sorry. I do have a minimum wage job. I make barely over 7 dollars an hour. I am not complaining...I am grateful to have a job at all. Not because I cannot find a job but because I am not hiring material according to many companies.

Digging a hole. Ha! Well blow me over...I have done that too. Picked peanuts and hoed them. I have been a blackberry picker...powerwasher...debri clean up. Laid sod...now that was hard and hot work. Now if you were talking to me...I am not a whiner, nor do I think me any better than the next person.

I did use to have my own business. But, guess what? It went under due to the recession in 2007,2008. I took the first job that hired me. I am still there.

Now you sound like someone that knows work and does it.

My roommate is down to 20 hours a week :( but he is happy to have a job :)

My nephew on the other hand has tried every place in town and can't get a job. He even tried mcdonalds, they told him they weren't hiring either.

I like the way he thinks before he speaks. It's so normal. And he does it without sneering too. That's so refreshing.happy

That's sad. Around here Arby's and Wendy's and Braums, and lots of other eating places are hiring. Even Lowes and Home Depot. Walmart is too. Now I live in the city where there is more jobs, In some of the smaller towns jobs are scarce. Mostly due to companies moving their jobs to other places, like Mexico. I think those places should never be allowed back in the united states ever. Not to open their doors for business.

I have put my application in places that are hiring such as grocery stores, but some of them also will not consider someone who has a job even if it is partime, over someone that has no job. I understand that though.

Other Presidents have done the same thing. It's more organized then everybody making a commotion and hollering things.

I think we humans can some times be so suspicious of someone we don't particularly like we can't recognize when someone is being genuine. It's often not easy to let go of that to allow ourselves to hear.

I agree.

It's not thinking about the answer though - it's thinking about the wording. Any topic that he gives a real answer to is normally quick. When he does his stumbling "uh, uh" thing, the answer that follows normally is not direct and it is very thought out as to not tie himself down to anything of controversy.

That is not what I see. Usually a coverup is well planned out and the answers are robotic.

I never said coverup - I said tying himself down. Case in point: my thread. He went on and on about the 95% tax cut all through the campaign. He went on about it as the stimulus was written. Now, when confronted in a media conference whether or not he'll sign the budget if it lacks the cornerstone of his economic policy, he stumbles and goes on about the other items in the budget he pushed for, effectively dodging the question. The reporter calls him on it and he stumbles again.

he's a great public speaker so long as his tele is with him or it's his robotic talking points. once he's on the spot, he loses all composure and stumbles just as bad as bush.

That is not true. I have watched for the deception and it is not there. Now Bush had all his stuff planned and robotic. He messed up a few times and they fixed him real quick because he was going to be in jail if he talked on his own.

so you think the fact he never answered the actual question being completely open and honest? There's no deception in the fact that he is leaving a loophole for his own tax cuts that he campaigned on for 20 months to be repealed? Ironically, I'm sure the other things he listed in his "answer" are likely the reason he cannot keep the tax cuts. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
