I think it was great he agreed to appear on an everday show like he is one of us. He is being attainable and transparent like he said he would be.

I do not generalize if I can help it so I try to give the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. Like with Bush, I did not like him, did not vote for him but I gave him a chance to prove himself. he proved to be a sneaky, power hungry, inconsiderate to those unlike himself, waste of a good presidency who has taken this country to another level of low. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt at first.

I heard it the way he meant it. He was saying he was so bad he needed help. That he probably looked ridiculous doing it. So he compared it to special olympics people needing help. As opposed to people who actually know how to bowl. I am one of those special needs people. I need special attention when bowling. I need taught how to hold the ball to how to throw it...to not falling on my ass. My 2 year old grandson bowled better than me!

I still say I heard nothing to make me feel he was at all being ill willed. Just human.

He said he felt like in special olympics. So what? I have said that before myself! It is normal for humans to reprimand ourself softly by saying we did very bad, and comparatively that we did as stupid do.

Actually, I think it's a funny thing to say. I volunteer with Downs Syndrome people and my younger brother competed in the Special Olympics when it was held in Ireland. One of Ireland's top comedians does huge amounts of work with Downs Syndrome kids and he used it in a sketch. The media got up in arms about it so he invited the society along to see his routine, they issued a statement the next day to say that it wasn't offensive. People make fun of things all the time, it's how we deal with life. Mentioning something isn't necessarily a big attack on it. It's like a phrase that I use "I'm sweating like a paedophile in a Barney suit". Do I find paedophiles funny? No. But the image itself is.
