Topic: Confess Your Faults...

My fault is loving deeply and giving completely.
My sin is relying on alcohol last night...rather than relying on the Lord to ease my pain. Vengeance, hatred, bitterness is sin and eats you up like a cancer. Forgive me Lord!
I'm still in pain...but this to shall pass.
Psalms 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Psalms 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

I have found that James 5:16 goes well with these verses where I work.

Proverbs 16:16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!
Proverbs 16:17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
Proverb 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverb 16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
Proverb 16:20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.
Proverb 16:21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.

this is a great post!!! but too many faults to name

but I do have a hard time lately (well for most of my life) to give to God the things I can't control or know how to help. then I beat myself up because I feel like a failure because I can't carry the weight of the world on my shoulders. my mind tells me one thing (logically) and my heart tells me another (emotions) so i get torn instead of asking God to take it from me and letting Him do His will

My problem lately is wanting a man in my life to walk out God's will with. I thought I found him and was about to rush into marriage on April the 3rd.

God showed me various things about my fiancee, but I didn't want to see it, because I love him so much.

My prayer when I meet a man is for God to take him out of my life if he is not the man He has for me. That's exactly what He did and yet I struggled to keep him in my life....listening to my will and not His will.

It hurts so much, but it probably saved me from much pain later.....so thank You Jesus!

We DAILY battle our flesh.....what we feed more will win. We need to be in the Word and Prayer....so that our Spirit will overtake our flesh!

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

These Scriptures gave me comfort today.

Matthew 11
[28] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
[30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I can relate to where you are coming from. Too many times I have done the very same thing.

But know that you have already been forgiven. All of your sins, past, present, and future have been forgiven.

It's often very hard for most of the body of Christ to believe, but God is no longer imputing or counting our sins against us. In fact, we are not to even have a consciousness of sin any longer.

Jesus laid this out so eloquently in John Chapter 16. He said:

8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9Of sin, because they believe not on me;

The word “reprove”, in verse 8 means basically the same thing as reprimand. But notice that He says of “sin”, singular, meaning the old sin nature that we had before we accepted Him into our hearts. Not “sins” as in our individual acts of sin.

He makes that quite clear in verse 9 as he describes what that one sin is; not believing in Him!

People don’t go to hell for drinking, or lying, or stealing, or committing adultery, or even murder. People go to hell for not believing Jesus.

All of our “sins” have been forgiven, not only the sins of the believer, but the sins of the whole world. Of course that doesn’t mean everyone is saved. But the ones that aren’t or don’t become saved, are going to go to hell even though their sins have been forgiven. They just never accepted the payment!

1 John 2:2 (King James Version)
2And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Paul also exemplifies this truth many times. The following verses in 2 Corinthians 5 helped change my life:

17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

These verses are so powerful. Verse 18 makes it so clear that we have been, as in past tense, reconciled to God. And then in verse 19 we know that our sins, or trespasses, are no longer being imputed towards us.

Imputed is an old accounting term which basically means “counted against”, or “held record of”. Our individual acts of sin are no longer being counted against us!

Paul says this again in Romans 5:

13For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

That which is old, the law, has been done away with. And as Paul points out, when there is no law, sin is no longer imputed! That’s awesome!

There was 430 years between the time when God made His promises to Abraham and when He gave the law to Moses. Before that time, when there was no law. Sins were also not imputed. Even the very first murderer was protected and allowed to live. His sin was not imputed either.

So in a sense, you could say that we are still under the old covenant.. Not the Law of Moses, but the even older one, which is the law of faith.

Genesis 15:6 (King James Version)
6And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

My point sister is that God is not mad at you. He sees your heart. I am sure that it does discourage Him when we seek comfort from anything other than Him. But rest easy my sister, He wants nothing more than to shower you with His love right this very moment.

1 Samuel 16:7 (King James Version)
……..for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

Go jump up in His lap and give Him a great big kiss! He’s waiting!

Let me also say that my points from above don't by any means give us a license to keep on sinning. We are supposed to be dead to sin.

Sin hurts us, it hurts other people, and it opens up a huge door for the devil to tamper with us. And you know that if we give the devil even an inch he's going to eat our lunch and pop the bag!

Romans 6 says it well.

1] What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
[2] God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
[3] Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
[4] Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
[5] For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
[6] Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
[7] For he that is dead is freed from sin.
[8] Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
[9] Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
[10] For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
[11] Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
[12] Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
[13] Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
[14] For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
[15] What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
[16] Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
[17] But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
[18] Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
[19] I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
[20] For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
[21] What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
[22] But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
[23] For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6 is a powerful chapter indeed. In verse 16 Paul makes his point real clear as to why we don't live in sin any longer.

In fact, the whole book of Romans just rocks!

Paul knew that people were going to question his teachings about grace. Four separate times he presupposed that the question would arise so he went ahead and addressed it by saying, "What then, shal we continue living is sin? And his answer was always, God forbid!

So the way I see it is that if people aren't asking us that same question, then we aren't preaching the Gospel, good news, the same way Paul did.

My fault is loving deeply and giving completely.

That's not a fault though..that's a strength. And It's not your fault, it's the world we are living in is a tough place to live and not as loving and passionate as you are, but never give up loving deeply and completely! flowerforyou

beauty...i have been having the same problems as you

today (and i felt awful and very bothered by this) my mind knows why the guy blamed me for things i didn't do and for abandoning me, but my heart always broke for him

my mind thinks logically only. but today my heart felt very angry. i kept thinking how if he wanted to try to hurt me more...the things i could get him back at.

that's not me. i don't like hurting others but i kept thinking of how (legally) i could floor him and how i could make it so he wouldn't show his face around

i feel awful for even thinking such things

I pray for forgiveness for the hateful thoughts

I confess that I don't like creditors but even the vultures have their purpose.

Isaiah 34:15 There shall the great owl make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow: there shall the vultures also be gathered, every one with her mate.
