I responded to someone who matched with me 7 days ago and she hasn't even read the email (according to the lack of checkmark in the "read" column). Why do people bother to write to you if they don't want to follow up? I don't have time to waste. Also, I stated I was just looking for friends right now and I got a couple of emails from women who are looking for a date. I'm beginning to wonder why I joined this group. Anyone else have these issues?

Hmmmm, Just because you dont have time to kill doesent mean they dont, and it could be that she only logs on evry now and then. People (i thought it was limited to guys, but i guess im wrong) Tend to not read the entire profile, and some just figure theyll try anyhow. Your young to this site for starters, Miracles dont happen overnite, it takes time, regardless of weather you have it or not.

It happens alot , it's the reason I no longer make first contact ( I did one the other day just to prove myself right)

Sometimes the mail can't be read because it may not have even been sent.

If there are certain key words in the content of the mail, it won't send it. I don't know what words they are, but I've had a few not go through because of links, addresses, etc.

You might want to re-read it and see if you can rephrase it. Also, check and see her last on-line date; maybe she hasn't been logged on in awhile.

Hey if you see unread deleted don't be disappointed, some users (.01%) get 100 new emails a day if they have a great picture up. People like that don't have time to read your message even if they wanted to.

well like you see most of the users that you can search for on this site just dont use it. or they will pop in once and change their pic.

We've found that Women READ your profile BEFORE they open your email. If your profile description sucks it doesn't matter how good your email is. Make sure your description contains "Hopes and aspirations", "Hobbies/interests in general", "Musical Tastes". These are all conversation starters and will show a women you have something in common with her. If your profile description is blank or super short you are 9 times more likely to get "unread deleted".

I have to disagree here. MY personal experience so far has been 8 of 10 that made contact did not even read my profile at all...Yes its important to have things on your profile. But they should represent who you are.. all the little things to me are somewhat meaningless. Because IF i ever do decide to meet someone from here I will want to find out what are the things we might do together and have experiences that are unique and different .Not the same ole tired BS you read day after day.

SHE contacted ME and I responded, then nothing. And there was nothing in my email that would be a red flag. I checked my sent mail and it WAS sent, but not read yet. Oh well.

I didn't make first contact, I was responding. Which makes it even more confusing because obviously she must have seen something in my profile that she liked.

People are confusing especially when using the cloak of anonymity that the internet provides.
