I am sorry, Madisonman, just as you agreed I have thought of an exception that I forgot to mention.
War can drive an economy if it is a war in which a nation does not participate, but makes them weapons to fight with each other. This is the only moral way of using wars to our own benefit. Let the two stupid ones fight, and sell to both! This was the case, when US sold weapons to Soviet Union, in WWII, for gold! Publicly, though, it was called Landlease, and it was said that the weaponry was free.  This satisfied both sides, the US wanted to appear a benefactor, and the Soviet Union didn't want to let their stupid citizens know that gold is the real money for which no borders or politics matter. |
