I have a good friend that worked in a club and put herself through law school, bought her Mom and herself each a house (in cash) and set up her son's college tuition. She is one of the best parents I have ever known and damn good person as well. I have the upmost respect for her because she made the choice to work in a job that is looked down upon because of other people's moral indignation to support her family and prosper.

I am ashamed of people who look down their nose at someone that is busting their butt to take care of their family based on a "generalized perception" on what is good, right and moral. Who gives anyone the right to judge someone else? mad

As a parent, would you not do what ever you have to in order to take care of your child? Would you beg, borrow or steal to make sure they had food in the belly, the meds they need, a roof over their head, security, and an education to give them more??

If you are willing to do whatever it is you have to to give your child more, then turn around and condemn someone for working hard... I'd have to call you a hypocrite!

Ok, my rant is done. bigsmile

There are some things money can't buy.

Self-worth, Dignity, Morality.

But don't you understand, in this world some people think they have cornered the market on morality.

Look, what people want to do to make a living is their own choice. You want to show your body off and get paid for it, have at it.

But to me, it's a choice between keeping my dignity and self respect or money. And personally, I'll take dignity and self respect over money any day!
 most of the dancers i know have dignity and self-respect but the are condemed by "Society" patroled by "The Morality Police" be seeing you
There is a VAST difference between a stripper and a lady of the night..Most strippers I have met and talked with through my life will never have sex with a customer,,many are lesbians, many have a life partner,,MANY are GOOD PARENTS,,so FEW will cross the line on sex and its their job if THEY DO CROSS, at MOST houses anyway as the club can lose their license..
So NOW,,I ask YOU why do you only want to bring them up but NOT STATE THESE FACTS as to you being so involved with THEM and WORRIED so much about this "Morality Police" you now speak of in your third thread about strippers? smokin be seeing you

I am just wondering.... why do MOST people ASSUME that being a STRIPPER, DANCER ETC. means being a HO? Fact #1: depending on the BOSS MAN the strippers, dancers, etc. are NOT allowed to get PERSONAL with the CUSTOMERS, its called FRATINIZING and in doing so it could cost you YOUR job. Fact #2 Customers have RULES AND REGULATIONS and if you don't abide by them the BOUNCER throws your BUTT out....

But you used the word MORALITY. It maybe a morality issue by your standards, but don't expect everyone to agree.

Since when did stating your personal opinion about how you feel about a certain subject get translated into judging someone?

so people would rather see a single-mother work a god-awful minimum wage job rather than work as an exotic dancer where she could make over 2000 bucks a night? be seeing you

Is that the same as baiting, Redshirt? Then if someone disagrees with the OP, he calls them "The Morality Police".

I had a girlfriend that lived with me for a little over 2 years that was a stripper (dancer they call it). She was an intelligent, motivated woman who would never think about cheating on me. Quite a talented and exceptional person. She put herself through college doing it. Now shes a pediatric nurse and working on her MD.

There are a some who fit most peoples ideas of what that is but the only common denominator between them all that I could see is that they were not shy. And I like that.

Nothing wrong with dancing as far as I'm concerned. It's only a LITTLE more revealing than your kids are seeing on TV these days.
