What's the difference between what? huh

I believe in fairies and I also know that trees can talk.

But I don't go around using those facts to convince other people to hate their neighbors, harrass gays, denounce science, and tell eveyone who doesn't believe like they do that they are rejecting God and going to hell.

That's probably the 'difference'.

I believe that everything is connected...me to the fairies, the trees...to everything...and they to me .
*Belief - Mental acceptance of and conviction in the truth, actuality, or validity of something.*

I have faith that one day more will see things that way.
*Faith - Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.*

I'm a Christian and I have no problems with gay people, I don't hate my neighbors, and I love science.

Same here man. Abracadabra watches to much tv evangalism. (just kidding) If I heard a preacher or anyone for that matter spouting that hatred nonsense, I would totally turn the other direction.

good answer

people can disagree, dislike or even hate all kinds of actions but it doesn't mean they hate the people

I believe in God. But, I am not a Christian, nor am I religious. Not sure about fairies. Trying to remember if I have ever heard a tree talk, though I thought a saw people in them a few times. Wait...no. Wait....maybe? Naaa I didn't hear a tree talk, I am sure it was those tree people.

Seems that some people will use doctrines, philosophies, religions to justify the ugliness and hate in their hearts. I'm not sure it is correct to place all of the blame for that ugliness and hate on those doctrines, philosophies or religions. Words written long ago often reflect the beliefs of their times...nice to know that many of us continue to evolve.

I'm not a christian, and I don't differentiate people by their sexuality...

And outside of this mental thread where people seem to have to announce stuff...I would never even notice what I may or may not be....

Fairies? Dunno....

trees... I can feel their spirit, their energy, and see their aura... MOST are MUCH brighter than humans.

I couldn't give a brass razoo whether it is a faith or a belief.

I would rather just get on with it.... trying to ram it down someone elses neck is an exercise in futility.

I believe that many people can exchange ideas and opinions without having to "ram" anything down anyone's throat....

some are more aggressively passionate, some are more subdued

most of the issues come from a lack of understanding if both parties have done their homework then the issue is miscommunication as opposed to simply lack of knowledge .... but its still the same thing

A belief is any idea you hold as true.

Faith is any idea you do not require evidence to believe.

Faith is what one believes within where Belief is what one holds to be true.

So in a sense would not faith and belief go hand in hand.

For if one has faith within would they not also have the belief that it is reality?

Therefore whom am I to judge your faith or what your belief is?

Just because the way you see things may not be the way I see things so who can actually say which one is right or wrong?

So would it mean one is insane due to they see things a different way or sees things I do not?

Insanity to me is only believing that there could be no explanation of what one believes could be within reality as well.

Can no one see that within reality of it all that it could be both may be right?

Or are we so one sided that neither can see it is possible?

Why is it we feel that there is only one solution to every theory?
