What are different ways in which we evaluate people? How do these factors play a role in our expectations of other people? What are the disadvantages of these expectations? |

Oh Mirror,I cant even begin to answer this in an acceptable, way.The people I thought would be there for me, have been a big disappointment. Then there have been others that have turned out to be a something special, which surprised me...I think whats more important, is how they evaluate me?......

Thats a very thoughtful answer. I have had people that I thought would be there for me turn out to be a big disapointment too. And yes others have turned out to be special and a surprise. And you have an excellent point that it is more important how they evalate you. |

I have learnt this much that if you don't expect much you don't get disappointed.

I will take "Easier questions" for $300 alex!! I use 80-100 rule. The facts must match within 80 of the statement. For example I am willing to examine my own profile. Says I'm 5'6 so say I'm actually 6'7" I'm well within tolerance. Hair color Brown so say Its =<20% Gray again within tolerance. Body Type Average for sake of argument its actually atheletic well again within tolerance. Fact is you will always find some deviance from some statements including those of your own. Its a matter of intentional and purposely misleading versus just plain misunderstanding of the question or maybe, my favorite, none of your business. A flat out lie is just that, a lie. I prefer to simply take the fifth to gather my defense. When really, I mean really one wishes to get to know someone, think of it as business in terms that your heart is the major investor and you want a return on your hearts investment, every investment has risks, too many setbacks and you find yourself hard up for the heart you may need to secure a true and long term relationship. This all comes from a single person still has plenty of heart, buyer beware. |

Expectations lead to disappointment. Better not to have any.

Expectations lead to disappointment. Better not to have any. Question? If you don't have expectations.. Don't you end up with the bottom of the barrel types? or people who are not what they say they are? and this applies to even everyday living? you don't have expectations then you get spoiled fruit when you shop? or your car doesn't get fixed right? |

What are different ways in which we evaluate people? How do these factors play a role in our expectations of other people? What are the disadvantages of these expectations? 1. Looks are a BIG one then social status and money and education 2. beauty is only skin deep, money cant buy happiness, smart people need love too 3.Just because you are parked in the garage does not make you a car... |
