Depends on who it is, and what i'm doing, if i'm busy i'll hang up, but i never hold over a minute...hey, it's my time...they can talk to someone else, on their time.

I used to get some phonecalls in an old job i had from a switchboard trying to put a call through to me, and i would get put on hold. But i instantly hang up everytime. If you call someone and get put on hold its not so bad, but if someone calls you then puts you on hold it is mega annoying.

I'll usually just hang up once they click over. They can call back if they want. I don't use the call waiting on my phone. (Mostly because I'm not capable of clicking over without hanging up on everyone! )

Long enough for them to see who it is. If they prefer to talk to someone else and ask me to wait? Nope I hang up.. That's why I don't have call waiting/ forwarding or even caller Id. I figure I ether want to talk with them or I don't .. And if the line is busy? call back if its important.

I usually don't wait very long, it's my cell minutes they are eating up while I sit on hold and wait. If my cell rings and I am talking to someone, I just peek and see who it is, and generally will just call back whoever called while I was already on the phone.

I usually tell them to just call me back. That's what I do, or tell them I'll call them back when I'm through. Yeah, thats the way to go.

I hate call waiting and never use it. I also won't stick around long if I'm put on hold for someone to answer another call.

Once thinking I was switching calls ... ended up with a 90 minute LD call. Phone company was understanding and gave me a credit.

There are actual solicitors who computer cold call and then when you answer the computer says someone will be with you. UHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm thinkin ((((((((((( NO ))))))))))))

I interrupt anyone, anytime for my children. Who knows what might be going on. Which is who was calling when I was on the phone with Deb (which is why I took the call & why I started this thread =) .. I never interrupt a call with someone for just someone else .. but my kids are different.

I do that too .. cuz it beeps & you can just make a note of the person (unless, again .. it's my kids)
