Oh Riva, sometimes I wish it was that easy
The water here in town is undrinkable, it comes out of the tab smelling of chlorine So I have to buy drinking water in bottles, and it only comes in plastic. In Germany you have to pay a few cents extra that you get back when you return the empty bottle. Here in Ireland you find these filthy things all over the place Many people just don't bother with the recycling scheme, it would cost them money, you know |

Invisible I understand what you mean about the water.
So Ill make a deal. I wont drink any bottle water and you plant an extra tree for me. |

Last month in Sydney, Australia's largest city, (with a population of
4.2 million, and 152,000 residing in the inner city business sector), to encourage awareness of Earth Week, the Mayor of Sydney elected to turn off the city lights in the business sector. All offices, all buildings that were not residential, were turned off for the night. Even the lights of the Harbour bridge, other than navigation lights, the Opera House, every iconic building in the city centre were turned off. The amount of energy saved in one night was astounding, I don't have the figures, but the tonnes of coal saved, and the reduction in emmissions, through not burning the coal was astounding. The Mayor and people of Sydney felt so good with what they did, they plan on doing it everynight. Imagine turning off Las Vegas for one night...the power saved, the resources saved, would be massive!!! |

* sorry typo...one night, every month, the lights will be turned off in
Sydneys business sector* |

What I have a problem understanding are neighbours from surrounding
villages coming into town at the same time, each of them using their own car The amount of petrol that could be saved if they were going together in the one car |
Yep, but see humans have this weird fear of sharing..afraid of I dont
know what...but to share space, to share a car, to share air, water, food... |
No, we can't even share this planet properly with all the other
creatures, we just have to take over every bit of space |

Check out NPR and BBC, that's the only news that's actual news.

So who is the ruler of Australia???
Without googling it? Doesn't anyone know?? |

Tomokun, I don't have a tv outside my window, so it would be very hard
to see the news there. No Jess, I'm sorry, I don't know, but then I don't know the one of Germany either |

Yeah, to be honest I thought Australia had a Prime Minister, so shows
how much I know. BTW, love your people, love your country, love the accent. Although, is their a language for Australia, or just a national accent (BTW love the accent, even if its stolen ) Ah vis, the wonderful thing is that NPR is radio, no looking required! |

Colony? Would the ruler then be the Queen?????????????? |

Yeah, it seems journalism has lost the integrity it once had, changing
new into "reality tv" with brain damage. |
Tomokun, I haven't watched tv neither listened to the radio in the past
2 years and I'm not going to start now Yes Jess, nothing as inspiring as a coffee mug in the progress of being washed |
But then who tells you what to think and when?
What?????????
Why should I let anybody tell me what to think??? Last time when checked I still had my own brains |
