Topic: Christian Radio Takeover? | |

About 10 years ago one of my favorite am radio stations got bought out by "The Patriot" - the right wing political station. They already had an am station, now they have two!
I had some good bible teachers I listened to on a regular basis. Replaced by blah,blah,blah......we'r always right Now, my fm station has been bought out by a bigger station. They changed the format from bible teaching to mostly music. They used to carry a lot of LOCAL pastors. I found my church that way. Now they carry Dr. Dobson and national people. Is anyone going to find a home church that way? Praise & worship music is all fine and good, but the TEACHING is far more important. "The famine of the end times is for hearing the word of God". This station is now a virtual clone of the other all music fm station - there is no need for two of them. How are things in your city? Anybody else notice the disappearing of sound bible teachers? Guess we have to rely on the internet even more than ever (mp3 sermons). And what of people who don't have internet access? |

There are still a lot of good gospel stations coming on the shortwave bands.Short wave is the most widely used communication tool by residents in most countries throughout the world.
* Ten short wave radios exist for every cable and satellite TV, Internet address, and satellite radio. This 10 to 1 ratio allows individuals, as well as families to hear broadcasts around the world. * Governments, including the U.S. use short wave radio for their international communications. * Short wave enables WRNO to target the unsaved worldwide, especially individuals who live in countries restricted from the traditional "face to face" missionary enterprise and satellite TV efforts. * From one transmitter, short wave radio signals bounce off the earth's ionosphere, which enables WRNO to broadcast throughout 3/4 of the world's population. http://www.wrnoworldwide.org/ |

Might there be some Internet radio stations out there still preaching the word and not Dobsonisms? I too have seen a push toward the humanistic Dobsonism teaching and away from the true Bible.
Do a search on Google for: "Christian Internet radio stations" These type of radio stations will open up in your Windows Media Player just like it is on-the-air.... Now... instead of having AM and FM stations as a limitation, we have the entire Internet to tap into... Can't help you in your car... but maybe a suggestion there would be to acquire some good teaching audio CDs and listen to them as you roll on down the highway There is always a choice... ad long as freedom will ring.... And if I had a bah-zillion bucks like Dobson, I would buy out all the stations that put his crud on the air... total useless reality-show-like drivel, and did you ever notice how little he ever says the name "Jesus".... mostly becuase it is about his own selfish promotion of his own selfish books and ideals... Get back to the Bible, read the word, study the word... and turn from heretics like Dobson... amen..... |
