Ours isn't too bad if you don't go at the end of the month. Most of the stuff needed you can get done through the mail. However, I am taking my daughter the end of March for her written test. So I hope that doesn't take long and that she passes the darn thing. I had to re-take the written test after returning to Ohio, desipte the fact I was only gone for about 20 months. It was much harder than I remembered. |

In a word, packed. We DO have some kind of appointment bull-honkey, where you can call in and pre-arrange your time for your DMV bidness. Otherwise, you're pretty much screwed. Making appointments at the DMV would be really awesome. The best we have here is that you can check online for an estimated wait time before you go. |

I've had the long line experience as well as gone when I'm in and out, but the employees there, always the same...I think surly and rude must be a job requirement.

DMV here is a freakin' nightmare! No matter how early you go, you're going to be there for hours. No matter how much money they say you need, and no matter how much you bring, you're gonna need twice that. You need a notarized letter from Jesus Christ to get anything.

Glad to say I haven't had any problems, most of the things I do online and rarely have to physically go to the DMV. On the rare occassion I've had to go the wait has never exceeded 10-15 mins.

Hummm well I have to go for the company I work for and have no problem normally out within 20 minutes or less.
And the same when I do mine as well actually at times have done mine online so much nicer.

its worth driving to the outskirt ones here... thank goodness i live in the outskirts.. but in portland you could wait like 2 hours... here its like 30 min or less

It only took 4 trips there to put the cars in separate names after the divorce. I had other business there too, but still took a while.
Usually not so bad. When we moved to Michigan we had to get new drivers licenses and they wanted a state birth certificate. I never had one, ever. But they did accept a marriage license and vehicle registration. License from Colorado and expired military ID and hospital birth cert. weren't valid. |
