So not having luck here finding someone fun and cool to talk and spend time with I have tried eharmony - And success or so I thought; we chatted more and more she even sent me her number and we spoke on the phone then nothing its like being dropped off the face of the moon. So what now any suggestions?

Ditch the 'long walks on beach' in your profile.
Even people in Kansas have that in their profile.
It doesn't matter that you live near the coast, get rid of it.

I guess one could compare online dating to car shopping. You know what features you are looking for. So, you go out and look at a few available cars that fit closely into your criteria. You take a few of your favorites for a test drive.

Of course, with online dating, test drive would begin with getting a history on the vehicle (woman)... chatting, talking, emailing, whatever to find out more details and see if it is a good fit so far.

Then if you think it's something you might want, you ask her out on a date. That is when you see if the chemistry is right. If so, go for a kiss (or start with a slow dance if in the right atmosphere for dancing). Does she still fit into your criteria after the first date? If so, then you can move to better things. It's not rocket science... you just have to be willing to "shop" around and test the waters.

Online dating is backwards... you don't have the natural chemistry that draws two people together when they meet in person. So, we have to go through a process of elimination or screening process to find out if there might be something there. Then you meet and if the chemistry is wrong, politely move on... If it's right, move forward.

It's not easy, but that's what dating is all about... getting to know someone and exploring the possibilites. It takes time and effort and a willingness on both parts.

offtopic oops  laugh

BTW, none of us are on topic in this thread... none of this has much to do with long distance dating... that can be an entirely different ballgame.

Just like a job interview. It is important to impress at each stage of the process.

About 2000K away. I spoke with her on tuesday and we're to meet in vegas in march. After speaking with her she seems more interested then I previously thought. So thats nice to hear.

It depends on the definition of " long distance ".

For some folks, long distance means anything over 50 miles.

For others, it's unlimited.

You can only decide what is comfortable for you.

Dude....I live in Texas...my woman lives and works in China....Going there next month for a visit...from my perspective...new york or California seem like they are just down the street. But, if you are with the right one....the distance is meaningless.

my girlfriend lives in Toronto and I'm in West Texas. Thats over a thousand miles and in a different country

I'm going up there in a couple of months. It's not going to be easy cause I'm on dialysis and we have to schedule "travelers dialysis" in various clinics in the area

If we can make that work I dont have much sympathy for people that whine cause their girlfiriend/boyfriend is only a few hundred miles away

So I had a conversation with my long distance friend we even spoke on the phone confirmed to speak again. We imed the next day for 2 hours, everything was kosher, she invited me to look her up facebook and invite her be friends there as well, so I did. And fraking poof she has dropped off the face of the world, texts, call, email, facebook friend invite nothing returned, I mean WTF!!!!!!

I have the emails an im conversation to show myself I 'm not delusional. If she suddenly decided to not be interested I can deal with that but to just drop all communication I just don't know it was like a kick to the teeth.

You'd be surprised how frequently this happens.
