Did you know that everything you've loaded up into your profile (personal pictures, etc.) belongs to Facebook, even after you've closed your account? That's what it says in the Terms of Service you agreed to when you opened your account, apparently. The Consumerist recently uncovered this disturbing info and it's causing quite a stir. So, what does this mean? Basically, Facebook can do whatever they want with YOUR STUFF. And, they can do so WITHOUT your permission. For example, they can license your personal pictures out to companies, make a shizzle of money and don't have to give you a dime. |

Oh no! Can't have people distributing pictures of me on a bicycle and making me a celebrity or something.
I believe pretty much all websites, or at least many of them, own the material that you post. Which goes to one of the more basic rules of internet posting: Don't post what you don't want to share. |

What is Facebook? Is it like a blog? Sorry, I don't know about it and haven't used it. I get intermittent emails from a guy I once dated directed me to his facebook and I just delete it. One of my thoughts is that it's a virus or something weird.
He doesn't call me (thankfully) and I don't get this facebook thing coming from his email... Just too weird. |

that's why I don't post any personal information,or pictures I dont want shared, just use a little common sense and you will be fine

If you agreed to the terms of agreement, then you essentially did give permission.
