Well, I don't know about growing bulbs so I can't answer your question. And, you're not alone in being screwed up by so-called "Christian" teaching. It's happened to millions.

My relationship/love issues do not come from Christianity. Mine is the usual "absent father" syndrome and never feeling like I was able to earn his unconditional love. So, I spend the rest of my life needing the approval of men. I know, really common and boring. ohwell

Parents are almost always the reason people are so messed up. Even the most well meaning parents screw their kids up without even knowing it.

Of course the irresponsible-parent-syndrome is all too common as well. But the irresponsible-society-syndrome is even worse, and those are the people who are trying to 'put God back in America'. That's what screwed it up in the first place! grumble

It's all about laying stupid guilt trips on totally innocent people. What a screwed up species we're part of. laugh

Do you guys buy your supplies locally or do you mostly order from the internet. I have two local shops that carry a few things....I mainly go in them for the candles. One I just won't go in anymore because the girls who work there are total b!tches and the other has screwy hours. I mean the hours posted are normal, but whether or not they are really there and open is hit and miss. So, I end up driving down to Hollywood to Panpipes......a very old, very well stocked occult shop. I think that's where I'm gonna have to go today.

There's nothing close by in my town that carries anything remotely related to witchcraft. In fact, I've been around asking for pentacle charms and everyone just gives me a dirty look. laugh

So I'm forced to use the Interent for things that are specific to the craft.

However, I do find a lot of things is regular shops. Like candles and incence, and things like that. I also find some really interesting things in these local country hardware stores. I have FOUR stainless still 'singing bowls' now. Of course they are real singing bowls, but they ring out so beautifully! And they were quite inexpensive and pretty. They also make good altar bowls for holding Holy Water, salt, potporri, or as offering bowls.

I've seen some nice cast iron cauldrons too, but they're quite expensive. I want to get a really huge one for the laybrinth garden to place at the south of the circle. I'm looking to get something like a huge cast iron pot that was used at a foundry or something. Sometimes these things can be picked up at a metal scrap yard. I'd like to get something really huge if I can. I'll keep my eyes open this summer. There are actually several scrap yards near where I live. I'm looking for something so large that I'll need to bring it home in a pick up truck.

I'll probably build fires inside it rather than under it, and use it for banishing spells, or just as a crucible to invoke the Fire Gods.

The coven that I participate in from time to time has a huge outdoor cauldron like that. It is definitely worth pursuing. We build fires in it too. bigsmile

I have purchased all my altar bowls at Walmart and my 9 day candles I get there too. But, I like the little candles for spells and they don't usually have the right colors. And, finding a black candle outside of Halloween is impossible. That's why I need the occult shops. And, for herbs. Panpipes has a HUGE apothecary with oils and herbs. And, for the full time mom/full time employee witch, I like to have someone I can trust to mix up my stuff. I just don't have time to do it myself.

As for incense, one of my close friends makes big batches of seasonal incense with herbs and flowers she buys and grows. I have never had such wonderful incense as she makes. I can buy the charcoal to burn it on at the occult shop or at the Catholic book store. The Catholic book store also has, of course, the Catholic stuff I use. Saint statues, novena booklets, holy cards, frankincense, etc.

So I'm in hollywood for shopping at panpipes and I forgot that today is the Oscars. What a mess frustrated

I had to give them one of my limbs just to park.

To the Fates

Grant me just one summer, powerful ones,
And just one autumn for ripe songs,
That my heart, filled with that sweet
Music, may more willingly die within me.

The soul, denied its divine heritage in life,
Won't find rest down in Hades either.
But if what is holy to me, the poem
That rests in my heart, succeeds —

Then welcome, silent world of shadows!
I'll be content, even though it's not my own lyre
That leads me downwards. Once I'll have
Lived like the gods, and more isn't necessary.

A tip from a book I got today:

If you need a black candle and don't have one, a white candle used upside down represents a black candle. Just cut into the wax to expose the wick.

so i have a legitimate source (in my view anyway) of real occult shamanism. Would anyone like to know several easy and repeatable steps to becoming someone who can twist reality to their will?

<----- already can. My reality is twisted enough thank you flowerforyou Most people can do that, they just don't know they can.
