http://www.filehippo.com/download_defraggler/

downoad this free defragmenter and run it. It will allow you to deframent just the fragmented files or the whole computer. THis is the best defragmenting program out there...and it's 100% free.

I would also recomend Ad-Aware SE and spybot SD, both of which are also free. Run all of these programs to clean your system and you should be good to go.

As far a laptops, I have a Gateway T-series, two 2 gig processors and 3 gigs of RAM with Vista premium and auto-wireless detection. Little spendy, but well worth the money.

Has lots of other features as well, including the sidebar thingy and media center. But then I guess it would also be what you are looking for in a laptop.

It's hard to say wich brand is the best. Most of Parts in the notebooks from diffirient brands is the same. In practice I work a lot of with brands like Asus, Toshiba, Aspire and Fujitsu-Simiens. they got difirient laptops models for all class of work.

The guys seem to have the ways to clean it down. just make sure you also do a virus scan as well. To get it to start up fast if you go to start, then to RUN, then type in msconfig and from there you will see a list of all your programs that start up when your PC starts up. unselect the ones you do not want.

As for laptops, I am running and HP and love it. They had a great warranty. I got a virus on my computer that messed up the hard drive and mother board, something that was my fault, and they repaired it without question. they even replaced my keyboard when I accidentally pulled off one of the keys. If I was ever to by a new computer again it will be an HP.

The easiest and safest way if you can to clean your computer is to erase everything and have a fresh install of Windows. It will look like a new computer and be a lot more faster.

Yes, well, as you can see, she is nowhere near the level required to do that.

I'll recommend you send the PC to a certified technician. That way you know it's in trusted hands. But if you wanna try your luck, you can run disk defragmenter like someone said earlier, use disk cleanup, check for malwares, and spywares. All these depends on the Operating System on your PC

I just reasonly learned that Apple has a newer laptop out with a longer battery life of more then four hours. I don't know the model or anything but I have seen the ad on tv and all.

Yeah your best bet as far as speeding up that pc you just got is reinstaill windows that is if you have the cd that came with it. If not I can tell you a website you can go to and get an OS for really a good price. That website is http://www.tradetang.com/China/Cell-Phones/13-20-priceT0-6.html .

Also check on how much ram that computer has and you could always ad more memory by going to Crucial.com/computermemory , that is if you want to and all.

I consider this as my code of honor, when I work on a computer for money.

among other:

- always deliver back a clean install, including new MBR.
- always offer to create a ghost of that install, and explain why is it that that for my client to have the ghost, works against my immediate monetary concern.
- offer a viable solution for an automatic data back up, to a separate media.
- offer to propose the rules of use of the internet and of app-installs, that would guarantee years of operation without any problems.
- offer to create a dual boot environment for those with indisciplined children.

I think, these are the things any person buying computer service should consider.

selective startup mode, then add/remove all programs you dont want.
