I believe there is a reason that women have two breasts, and animals have eight....

I find the whole octuplet thing with humans very disturbing.

I could understand women having many children in countries where medical resources and access to health care is not on the same level that we experience in industrialized nations. In that case, your children help you to support yourself and out of having 10, only 2 might live to adulthood. This even occurred in the United States historically.

I just dont understand this woman's reasoning behind having all of these babies when she cant support her origional, living children. It makes no sense and is counter intuitive. Im assuming these babies will require extra medical attention also if she carried all 8 to term.

On an interview she stated, she wants to be surrounded by children to have 'someone to love' frustrated

I am almost sure these octuplets were not carried to term, and are expected to stay in hospital for several more weeks.

She sounds like she is mentally disabled. She might have that "pumpkin eater syndrome" where women obsess on being pregnant. She should be evaluated.

To say the least

Suleman has been supporting her six other children with $490 a month in food stamps and receives Social Security disability payments for three of the youngsters that could total $2,379 a month.

That right there tells me that the government has been supporting the kids from the beginning, so in reality, she doesn't know the hardship it takes to actually having to work to support those kids.

And now, with that website, she's going to get more money handed out to her. So, in reality, she's always had help.

So, unless someone actually makes this woman get off her azz and actually work to support those kids, she's really never going to know how difficult being a Mom to 14 kids is going to be.

But here's the flip side to it. If someone does actually tell her that she needs to get a job, who is going to pay for the daycare expenses? Most likely, it will be the taxpayers again footing the bill.

I will stick with my original opinion and say that those kids need to be removed and placed with someone who can actually care for those kids in every way possible.

agreed and expand, her parents are the one's that provide the children with guidance and shelter what does she do besides push?

the same people who watched the kids while she worked double shift trying to save money for her in vitro procedures.

This was nothing more than a business venture for this woman.
Did you see where she had hired a Public Relations Firm?

I think the Dr. should be sued for child support and ordered to pay it monthly.

Hey Fanta flowerforyou

Question - since she was impregnated by in vitro does this mean that the male donor is liable and should be liable for the financial upbringing of these children?

Why?
He wasnt the irresponsible party here.
He made his donation anonymously.
The Dr. had the responsibility to ensure the woman could afford them, the same as an adoption agency has the responsibility of placing children into a safe and secure home.
I think the Dr. saw his chance for hid 15 min of fame as well and let it control his reasoning. Let him pay.

My opinion of the CA mom of eight? Well that's simple, it's not news. There I said it, there is no reason for anyone to be discussing this. Ooops took some fertility drugs, what the hell else is new? Didn't some lady in Iowa do the same thing a year or so ago. NOT NEWS, get her off of my TV and get me something worth talking about.

while it may not be the best news or the most interesting news, it does affect me, as a taxpayer and a curious person, so I do find it worth talking about. As did you, you replied

No, I know very little about the case. Sure I'm betting she'll be getting an IOU from the state of CA soon, but I don't care, it's CA, everyone is on welfare there.

I've been force fed this stuff by CNN and company, the only reason I know about it. WTF do I care about this lady? I sure am not going to help her directly. I am also tired of it being called a "miricale." It's science.

But we all are going to help her directly and/or indirectly for the next 18 years. (hope I am wrong, but doubt it)

I agree it was a procedure, not a miracle.

Oh I've been paying for other peoples children since I was one myself (yeah filed my first tax return when I was ten). What difference does eight more make? I'm not going to blame the kids for there mother's ability pop pills. Heck if drug taking was a reason to stop helping kids, none of us born in the 60's or 70's would have ever got help!!

so not the same

Please continue to pay your portion and feel free to pay my portion as well.

No where did I nor anyone else blame the kids, and what pill popping are you referring to? in vitro? a selective procedure to impregnate? is this what you mean?

Pill popping refered to the fertility drugs, you mean she's been using needles? That's even worse!!
