I saw white and black contractors leave St. Louis to go to New Orleans. They worked. Then I saw more being interviewed on the news. They worked.

My Aunt and Uncle went there as volunteers. She's a nurse.

Your word, no way to confirm.
Media is known to manipulate and only show one side.

It's only my word that I knew some white and some black contractors that went there?

It's only my word that my Aunt and Uncle volunteered there?

It's only my word that communities in my area donated supplies to contractors that I didn't know

Backing up what I saw.
The International Human Rights Law Clinic and the Human Rights Center at the University of California, Berkeley collaborated with the Payson Center for International Development at Tulane University to conduct a study of the situation of construction workers in New Orleans. The study took place in March 2006 and examined both documented and undocumented workers. Documented workers include U.S. citizens, permanent residents, work visa holders, and those workers with temporary immigration status, while undocumented workers are immigrants who are considered to be living in the United States illegally, although some may be eligible for legal status but have not obtained it.

Research showed:

* Nearly half of the reconstruction workforce in New Orleans is Latino, of which 54 percent is undocumented.

of this country to change the state of our troubled world???

Ok, Stonekeeper.
I spent some time in Southerm Ms. and New Orleans just after Katrina. I saw and as well as others what nationality the main workforce consisted of. A lot of American Contractors were there trying to get in on some of the clean-up and rebuilding jobs. Americans were pushed aside for Illegal Labor.
If you investigate, you might be surprised, a lot are in housing now. They don't have to prove nationality and their lenders will "bend" the rules to get them in, knowing, sooner or later their temporary jobs will end and they will lose the home to the lender.
There are other Illegal Advocates who are getting them deferred foreclosures, in hopes LaRaza's attempts to get bail-out monies for them.

i was one of the american contractors that came down from wisconsin after katrina...me and about 25 others in my camp...i was one of the first wave of trucks to arrive here and had a security badge to get through the check points...after getting the streets opened up we hauled dirt to the levy...not a single illegal in the bunch.....i was here for a year after the storm...left and came back....i saw what happened...one thing i didnt see was what you describe...sure there were a few texicans working alongside blacks ,whites,asians...we all had a job to do and we got it done as best we could...do i really care if people that came here to help the recovery worked thier way into housing??? not really.

i did however see haliburton and its subsidiaries get paid for alot of services they did not provide...i watched alot of brand new trailers (like 20,000 of them ) that could have housed people sink into the mud and be bulldozed...i watched the body search stop for several months while corpses rotted because the government didnt pass enough funding to continue the search...when they finally did cough up more cash i personally watched them pull bodies from buildings 6 months after the storm...i watched the shrub shut down work for 175 trucks everytime he decided to land his stupid litlle helicopter on the levy to roll up his sleeves for the news crews to tell america how hard we were working...i watched families pick through their belongings that were scattered everywhere to save tiny momentoes...sometimes with tear filled eyes as they tried to salvage things already scooped into trucks....thats the new orleans i saw...i didnt see anyone lay down...though i did see a few people breakdown...theres a pretty big difference.

I agree, there was much anguish when, it took so long after Katrina for rescuing and providing for the folks stranded. I was appalled at the lack of concern from FEMA.

Back to your original question an what can be done to help America.
I suggest, deporting first, the Criminal Illegal Alien. Following up with deporting the other 12 to 18,000,000 other Illegals. That would surely open up job opportunities for Amercans and Legal Immigrants.

That's not you doing something.
That's you wishing the Gov would do as you wish.
This country has 330 million people in it.
They do not all think as us and the illegals are fleeting in their loyalties.
As this economy continues to decline they are looking for greener pastures.
Many have already went home.
I will not leave my country as many of them were willing to in the first place just because things get tough. I will stay and fight to make them better. That's the American spirit and the American way.
The illegals never were American and they never had that kind of loyalty. They never had that kind of spirit.

The Republican Party is ate up with corruption and corporate greed. They voted to a member. A rarity in this country's Politics. (Red Flag)
They only agreed to vote for the stimulus when the education funds were reduced, the tax relief to the average citizen were reduced, and a provision was added, worth 15 million, to ensure their super rich friends would pay zero taxes.
They dont care about the average citizen's (voter's) wishes. They are controlled by a conspiratory group and the pockets of Corporations.
They need to be replaced in our two party system by another.
Dont get me wrong, the Dems are only a little better. If Hillary had won their Party's nomination I would have voted different. But Obama isnt Hillary and I truly believe he has the citizens hopes and welfare in his heart and mind.

I have never voted for a Dem President in my life until Bush made the corruption of the Republican Party obvious to me. Now I will never vote for another. Instead I will vote for a Libertarian or someone from another Party if I dont like the Dem choice.
I am and always have been, after-all, an unaffiliated voter.
An Independent American!

About half of which were not Republicans at all.
About half were racist bigots who just wouldnt vote for a black man.

I figure McCain recieved the 22% of blind, loyal Bushies, and the rest were just Racists.

You know what's ironic?
The man most responsible for the Republican Party's rise to prominence in America was Abraham Lincoln.

Then when a black American finally won the Presidency, and who's icon is Abraham Lincoln, he chose the Dem Party do do so.
He chose their party to run under!

Get to know your nieghbors.

For those than can, start growing your own food.

Pay off loans as quick as you can.

Buy valuable metals such as gold, silver, platinum, copper, etc. and keep it in a safe place.

Then brace yourselves for a total economic collapse.

Only after a collapse, will life actually improve economically. That is, only if we get some fiscal conservatives into office.

Winx some people read the right wing hate sites and take it as truth without further investigation. This is one of those stories on the right wing hate sites. There is alot on there about illegals that is not true. Also alot about Obama that is not true.

Research here is not correct. Prove it by a government site that is not affiliated with any political group.

agreed...every site I've seen (nearly) has their own agenda...I've no problem with Mexicans or whoever coming over, as long as they get a green card, visa, citizenship, et al...and they are hard workers...unlike a lot of the lazy white guys here in Fl on jobsites at the time (btw..I'm a white dude myself...)

Aren't all government sites affiliated with political groups?

Funny thing about that statistic, is the fact that government site wouldn't track illegals would they?
