Create no more pain in the present

Nobody's life is entirely free of pain and sorrow. Isn't it a question of learning to live with them rather than trying to avoid them?

What are your thoughts on this?

Pain occurs for many reasons that we cannot control.

Mental pain is an emotion that helps us grow emotionally.

If thats wat ur talking about?

Are you sure that pain cannot be controlled?

Can one live without mental pain to grow positively or is that impossible also?

Agree, learn to live with the good and bad.

If 'one' avoided the bad, how can one enjoy the good?

Yes, i am sure....If, for example, a close relative passed away, we cannot control the pain we feel, we can suppress it, or hide it, but we cannot stop feeling it.

Life is painful, there r no escapes, the only thing we can control is the way we deal with it.

If we all lived in fear of feeling pain, we would have no life. Pain is part of life.

I agree pain is part of our life.

The greater part of human pain is unneccesasary. It is selfcreated as long as the unobserved mind runs your life.

The pain that you create now is always some form of nonacceptance, some form of unconscious resistance to what is.

On the level of thought, the resistance is some form of judgment.

On the emotional level, it is some form of negativity.

The intensity of the pain depends on the degree of resistance to the present moment, and this in turns depnds on how strongly you are identifed with your mind.

The mind always seeks to deny the Now and to escape from it.

In otherwords, the more you are identified with your mind, the more you suffer.

Or you may put it like this: the more you are free of pain, of suffering - and free of the egoic mind.

I think one way to reduce pain for yourself or others, if you no longer want to add to the residue of past pain that still lives on in you, then don't create any more time, or at least no more than is necessary to deal with the practical apsects of your life.

Realize deeply that the present time is all you have is one way to deal with this.

I no longer believe this, I remember as a kid hearing this all the time and so I grew up assuming it, but later in life I learned we do have control over our emotions and over pain. Wonderful things help us grow too, but we don't say that we have no control over happiness.

The problem is that it is difficult to remove that old programming that told us differently.
