I just saw this now. Having known Cathy for a long time and met her three times, I am stunned, and I don't quite have the words. May he rest in peace in the hands of God. Thank you Keith .. she is a treasure isn't she? We can only hope this thread gives her a sense of the love, care and concern we feel for her in her moment of darkness ..

God our Father, Your power brings us to birth, Your providence guides our lives, and by Your command we return to dust. Lord, those who die still live in Your presence, their lives change but do not end. I pray in hope for Cathys family, relatives and friends, and for all the dead known to You alone. In company with Christ, Who died and now lives, may they rejoice in Your kingdom, where all our tears are wiped away. Unite us together again in one family, to sing Your praise forever and ever. Amen.

Here's a poem that a dear friend shared with me when my Mom passed. I hope that it will bring Cathy and her family comfort as it did for me.
To Those I Love And Those Who Love Me When I am gone, release me, let me go, I have so many things to see and do. You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears, Be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess How much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, But now it's time I traveled on alone. So grieve a while for me. Cathy, I truly wish this were something that no parent should ever have happen to them, and I am so deeply sorry for your loss.
God of hope, we come to you in shock and grief and confusion of heart. Help us to find peace in the knowledge of your loving mercy to all your children, and give us light to guide us out of our darkness into the assurance of your love, in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. |
