Get rid of ants without using bug-bombs? I have them in my bedroom, so the bombs are not an option. I had heard that mixing baking soda with some pop into a paste will work, but I'm not sure..

What kind of ants?

There's some stuff called Terro Ant Killer. Works wonders, just keep it away from pets.

The ant traps work really well. We get ants every year, and that's all we use. There small so you can hide them behind anything so they are out of the way.

They have some little black things that you put on the floor around the room. No odor and the ants are drawn to them..sorry can't tell you the name..

If you've got a Chinatown section in your town, try looking for something called "Miraculous Insecticide Chalk". It's a kind of chalk (whadda surprise) that you trace along doorways and corners- for some reason I can't personally explain, ants HATE that stuff... they just won't go near it.

It's non-toxic, it won't make your house explode (unlike bug bombs) and is safe for use around kids and pets. It's also dern cheap, too.

Isopropyl alcohol works. But the best thing is peppermint oil. It really ****s the little bastards up.

For ant hills, grits work. They eat the stuff and then explode. I am not sure if it would work indoors or not.

I have little black ant problems in the summer in my apartment b/c I am basement level. I use the terro ant killer traps. You have to make sure to put out a lot of them at first and be sure to keep them handy.

OK you can use the plant powder pesticide. Malathion? just sprinkle a little layer around the edge of your capet where the wall starts. they will be gone within 24 hours. You can vacuum it up the next day.

i had the same problem with the little black ants
this is the first year they came up into my house
they used to be a pest in just my lower den
i did some online research and went to the pharmacy
use a trap that contains boric acid. i actually watched them come up in droves, eat the stuff and within 24 hours they were gone

Thats what it was... Boric Acid. you can sprinkle it in powder form around the edges of your room and yeah they will be gone.

but if you make your own concoction mix it with a bit of water and sugar. they're drawn to the sugar

be careful though...it will harm children if ingested too much.

there is a right mixture online ... or, put it in hiding places
