Hopefully this won't morph into another "cynic" thread, buuuut...after reading about a ba-zillion posts about dating & relationships...LDR's & booty calls...blah, blah, blah...it seems to me that men are more apt to resign themselves to living their lives alone...(& I'm not talking about the guys who are actively searching for a mate...no need to try to defend your gender...puh-eeeeeeze!)

Why is that, I wonder? I don't know, but I think you may be on to something there. At this point, I pretty much expect to live my life alone -- nobody wants a writer, huh? -- but wouldn't mind being wrong about that -- as a pleasant surprise. For me, it's really about what's happened in my past relationships (most of them, anyway) -- when you find yourself more alone in the relationship than you were before it, it's time to pay attention. On another thread, I put it this way -- I'm willing to give up the dream in order to avoid having to live through more nightmares. |

the hunts and the chases are really fun but when you start coming home at the end of the day with no kills then you start to look into becoming a vegetarian!

probably because of the effort it takes and some men are kind of wuss bags also. You know the kind. They get an emotional boo-boo and need to run home to mommy!
I guess that a lot of it also is a measure of their patience. Either that or gluttony for punishment and rejection. Then again what chance does a over weight, been married twice and has kids by both, with a dead end job think they even have a chance at finding love when it is clear usually that they don't even love themselves? There are a share of guys that are looking for booty calls on dating sights. That is what Adultfreindfinder.com is all about! You want IGRAT you go there. IGRAT = Instant gratification. Don't you love guys that get squeamish over the sight of blood or cry boo boo tears over a splinter? How about those sensitive flowers out there? And even better yet all the passive aggression? Why is that, I wonder? I think men are just more apt to be independent. Because of that, they just reach a point to where it doesn't matter to them. I'm sure that most guys always have a desire for companionship, but when a relationship doesn't present itself, they/we look for other things to fill the void or just ignore it all together. Make any sense? I also think social stigma's have a little to do with it as well. Think about it, compare the amount of single men with roommates that you know to the single women with roommates. Make any more sense? Ok, I'll admit it, I'm extremely tired right now but can't sleep so my irrational tirads probably make no sense at all.
