a.) Some of them actually do start posting, or

b.) Every post on this forum is by me.

Now, I realize, that b.) is far more likely to happen than a.) but
that's OK because eventually this will become my own personal forum and
I can post things like the story about the snake that my grandfather
killed in his back yard when I was 3.

Hello all!! To be honest I don't come in here all that much but I have
my reasons..it has nothing to do with anyone its just personal reasons.
Its not that I am lazy at all and maybe thats whats going on with other
people.
Plus in the other threads, I don't post on the ones that I find
unpleasant to me. NO I am not going to do this or that with anyone so
why post??
I would think that being in Chicago you would be able to find a lot of
single people. I guess the secret is, when we least expect it...thats
when it finds us

Unsure -- you bring up a good point -- I don't bother with the "Would
You ___________ The Person Above You?" threads (other than to post my
own satirical versions), because, NO, I am NOT going to do this or that
with anybody above me regardless!

It sounds like you and I have the same attitude about those particular
topics; I don't spend much time at all in the "Sex" forum (most of the
topics there are not things I would want to talk about in public, let
alone amongst a group of unseen strangers!) -- probably 90% of
everything I post is in "General."

Which I suppose is why I'd like to get some things going on this Chicago
board. Frankly, "General" is a little inconsistent sometimes. Some
days it's a lot of fun, other days it's just people threatening to
leave. I really believe some of them have no intention of leaving at
all, they just want to see how many people will try to talk them out of
it. And that strikes me as kind of pathetic.

But I am digressing here, as I always seem to do whenever I notice the
keyboard on the desk....

Lex...I guess I will have to check out the Chicago section more often!!
I know there are times when I look at it and no-one has posted on it
forever. I will keep my eye on it when I pop on here though
I do understand that we all have our own opinions about different
topics. It just seems to me that things are going way overboard on the
sex topic!! If I was a new member and checked out some of those
topics--honestly, I would think a lot of perverts were on here.
Do they make up those topics because they are bored or do they just
think its fun? The one thing that really upsets me is to see a childs
photo on a sex topic...I promise you I would not talk to a man who has a
picture of his daughter then posts something nasty!! VERY TACKY

I had a silver doodad land in my backyard last night. Tiny creatures that resembled Michael Jordan bobble head figures came out and stole all my firewood!

If not for the Canadians on here, I think I would have emigrated to Site X by now!

I was getting tired of Chicago myself...I've just been on the main threads lately, Chicago being so depressing. I have met people from all over the country and Canada on the main threads. They are fun to talk to although relationships are unlikely.

I've been married a few times, Four to be exact, all from Illinois. I'm not saying Illinois women are difficult, But they seem to be a lot more "Keep up with the Jonesies type". Would not get in a serious relationship from a native Illinois (or midwest for that matter) women again. This Chicago forum just seems to fortify my discision that I should stay away from these woman for they are not my type.

The other forums have so much activity. There are discussions on many levels from flat out goofing around to serious life issues. I don't think Chicago is capable of this. I'll check and post on here with the hope of some life out there, But I'm sorry I can't hold my breathe.

Mike, I know exactly what you mean. You can go to General Discussion or Relationship Advice, or whatever, and there's always a new topic, always something to discuss, you can be silly if you want, or you can be serious, or just ask a question and know that people will read it and some of them will actually reply to it.

I don't see much (if any) of that going on here. It saddens me, but it is what it is.

You may have a point about Illinois women. I've only been married once, but I've had about a dozen live-in relationships, all from Illinois, and all -- uh, bad. It never really occurred to me that it might have something to do with them all being from Illinois, but -- in retrospect -- that's about the only thing they had in common. Well, that, and various levels of drug and alcohol abuse....

It's just hard for me to believe that, with all the locals who keep drifting through the match thing on my home page, there isn't one who would actually be interested in talking to a local guy with a somewhat non-traditional mindset....

But I've been on this site since December and haven't made even a millimeter's worth of progress, insofar as actually meeting anyone is concerned. Maybe all the time I've been devoting to this site would be better spent elsewhere....where there might be a chance to actually meet someone....

You know, come to think of it...I have been married once, he was from Indiana. I am not going to say it was an awful marriage BUT I don't know if I would ever want to do that one again!! I am wondering if maybe we are in the wrong state..or states~~~hmmm I see so many more interesting people in other areas.
When I think of moving out of Indiana, thats really not going to happen either! So, my conclusion is this...I am either going to stay single forever OR I guess I need to get of the house more!!! HMMMM maybe someone will move to Indiana and really make life interesting?? Who knows!!
