I got more of those, for which I received no recognition and even hostility from the recipent in exchange. Perhaps one day they figure it out, that I was helping it is done by the best intentions and cost me a lot.

Yes. I don't always like the "credit". It feels better to do something good just to do something good.

I have and will again if I see need to do so. But I have always felt if you do something like that then No one should know who did it, even the person you did it for. Its just something that happens. I don't need nor want the valadation for doing whatever I do for someone else.

I once saved a couple of kittens (three in all) from certain death as they tried to cross a street known as Victory Boulevard in a part of the San Fernando Valley known as "Van Nuys". I noticed them out of the corner of my eye as they came perilously close to getting turned into road pizza from all the local traffic and did the OJ Simpson Running Back schtick to get them out of there, almost killing myself in the process. I turned them into the closest Vet's Clinic just a couple of blocks away. How did I feel? Damned lucky, as I coulda gotten creamed by a Mack truck or something.

In a similar story, I was working out of town once, and to get to the jobsite, I had to go through several small towns. In one of them, as I approached the stoplight, I noticed a mama duck with six duckies in tow crossing the street. I deliberately pulled my vehicle sideways to block both lanes. There went mama and her babies, right on the crosswalk, pretty as you please, just as though they belonged there. Waddle, waddle, waddle. I got a few beeps from other vehicles, wondering what the hell I was doing, but as soon as they realized what was going on, I could see them laughing. When all the ducks got across safely to the other side where the water was, traffic commenced.

i have. but ill tell you the reverse.. i had someone.. an amazing person have oil sent to my house so that i could keep warm this winter.. the weather turned before i had a chance to plan for it, and i had mentioned i was cold one day, and they made sure we were taken care of.. the person and i are the only 2 who know to my knowledge.. and i dont think they have any idea just how greatful i am to them..

in my line of work.. most of the time i go totally unnoticed as just the chick who works up front. but ... sometimes... a patient will see that i try my best to go above and beyond to make their visit as pain free as possible. especially if its an emergency and they are already freaking out. sometimes... patients thank me. and ask me if my dr ever notices.
