I got an e-mail today, think it was suppose to be a joke...
1.5 million attended the inauguration. Only 14 of them missed work. I wish you and everyone else here struggling with this issue the very best and better things ahead for you. |

I have never seen times this hard, as far as the economy...personally, YES, but not everyone else in the "same boat"...I get calls everyday, for the "unemployment" office, where-ever they live...just so sad...And, the homeless, looking for shelters...for more years, than I care to think about..I'm looking at retirement, in a couple years...scared, you bet...But, at this time, i'm working 2 jobs...You do whatever it takes, to get by...I do pray for our "fellow Americans" as we are in VERY trying times..
GOD BLESS AMERICA |

Sorry to hear this. Have been through a Reduction In Force. There is now way around it...it is rough. My heart goes out to you. As I type this our school board is meeting to discuss the possibility of reducing the number of teachers and other cuts for next year to meet the decrease in state funding. |

Nothing like a little realism to put things back on track. Thanks. In the real world, I'm creating a half dozen or so jobs a month for other businesses. |

So sorry for ya sweetie. I don't wish this on anyone. I don't want to scare you, but I lost my job a year ago and haven't been able to find another. I don't know what to say except don't lose hope, pray, and use every service out there that is available to you. Good Luck.

Realize you are acknowledgeing this is happening to you but resist the temptation to take a swim in the river of denial. This is real and you have to hit the ground and bounce.
Most companies allow three days bereavement so you might want to ask for that. Also there are certain benifits you are entitled to so talk to a job counselor like yesterday. . You are pretty young I would moved toward more schooling and job skills. While you are unemployed and qualify for scholarships it makes sense to do that. Most community colledges and universities have houseing programs. Don't wait until you are in default to get a room-mate or affordable houseing. Apply for all utility discounts for low income people immediately. Cut off or cut back the non-essentials budget hogs immediately. (Reduce the the cable tv, cut out the garbage when you grocery shop, get a thermos and lunch bag while you job hunt, get a bus map and chart your job search. If you have daycare to cover apply immediately for assistance programs. Do NOT screw over your daycare provider. That is defintely one reputation you do NOT want to proceed you when you need people to help you. Many churches offer discounts or programs to help. There are people who will do child-care co-ops with you. Don't let ANYONE tell you there are not jobs out there. They may not be glamorous or easy but there is work out there and some income is always better than none. Having a job ALWAYS helps you to find a job. Get busy and look every day. It might be hard to suck it up right now but feeling sorry for yourself is a luxery that you can only allow yourself in small doses right now. Do your best not to spend energy on telling people you unemployed but to tell people how they can help you. Send every friend, family member, and associate, even e-mail pals how they can help. Take a jobskills resume every where you go. Good Luck. I know this is scary. Been there done that but "this too shall pass" so put your chin up, shoulders back, and pull up your own boot-straps. |
