So my point, that was ever so missed, there's no one to blame. It just is, like global warming and destruction of the ozone layer, we know what's wrong, and generally how to fix it, but it won't happen, no use in beating a dead horse. grumble

It's not, but the fact that this thread is beating a dead horse is true. There are no answers. I read the same stuff every time. I've yet to read anything original and thought provoking in over a year being here.

"Nice guy" thread number 42.

Today.

whoa

Been that bad today? sad.

@ the OP: Always a dangerous tactic to "attempt" man bashing in the hope of getting women interested in you. Best case senerio you end up on the "friends" list and might as well start helping them pick out nail polish for the weekend. You know, for the guy they are going to go on a date with.. while you sit at home and do the dishes. Worst case is you get hit on by more men then women.

Perhaps another angle of attack would suit you better.

yes way to many guys have forgotten how to treat a woman right

and many women don't allow men TO treat them that way.
Honestly i blame this on the feminist movement. If i am wrong please correct me but that is a big part of it i think

i think you can only blame feminism so far.

ultimately, it's still the man's choice in how he treats the woman. just because a lady is strong, independent, and earns her own income, it doesn't mean that he has to stop being gentlemanly.

my comment was in certain instances only, not in an overall and inclusive statement.

"Nice guys" & "Nice girls" all get the same mixed reviews...there is nothing wrong with practicing some social graces (like opening a door) and nothing wrong with accepting the courtesy. If it's done with respect who cares? People need to get over themselves - I would say it's rarely not because the partner thinks you are incapable of doing for yourself.

But frankly, neither gender has the market on the 'nice' threads or the abuse they sometimes get for trying to BE nice. There are plenty of men who can't accept common courtesy just as their are women who don't either...

So many guys today are complete a**holes and seem to have forgotten how a women should be treated but they still seem to get the girls. What is up with that? It seems in today's age it is better to treat women wrong to get them then it is to treat them with respect and the way they should be treated. What happened to opening doors and pulling out chairs and all the things that fall under chivalry and honour? Where did those days go?

Chivalry is a term relating to the medieval institution of knighthood. It is usually associated with ideals of knightly virtues, honor and courtly love. Today, the terms chivalry and chivalrous are used to describe courteous behavior, especially that of men towards women.

If you have to ask means you are not being chilvarous (jmo), otherwise you'd be able to answer your own question waving

That is also what this is about. WOmen deserve to be treated with respect and so many of them are treated like nothing but simple pieces of meat

Holding a door open is a polite thing for men or women to do for anyone. It doesn't only have to be a man thing to do.
